Well those cap numbers will change many things, but not Quinn's desire to play with his brothers and close to home.
If the Canucks offer 18 mil for 8 years in this tax environment and NJD offer 18 mil for 7 years is it enough to make playing with his brothers and winning or playing for two or three cups secondary?

Another consideration is the Canadian buck as income vs paying in US dollars. I think some people will have forgot what it used to be like before the cap.

If Quinn really wants to play with his brothers, theres no amount of money that can keep him.

That family is extremely well off and they will never have any money problems for many generations to come.

That being said, its not his last opportunity to play with his brothers. He can sign like a 4-5 year deal like Matthews and leave when hes around 31/32

I think if hes at that point and the Canucks are still not relevant, the fans would be happy for him to leave lol.

Aquaman seems to have no problem paying to the cap. I don’t think it would change now, even with the dollar tanking

But people might, no team products, less attendance, not as many sponsors/advertisers.

Today's dollar is .689 or 1.45 cdn per us buck.

The extension? Maybe he already did and that's why he signed a 6 year deal, with exactly those thoughts.

Why only play for maybe one cup when he might be able to play for 4, 5 or more with his brothers while in his prime

And a 4 or 5 year deal would have him 32 or 33 and on the backside of his career.

Family, yes very big for them, they may all still summer together

between 1997 and 2019, there were only three seasons a dman scored more than a pt/game

one was kris letang in the 2013 lockout year, and he missed thirteen games so a tiny sample (35 games)

the other two were mike green, who i think has started getting underrated for how incredible he was offensively
