You're out to lunch people who watch him play know how good he is at both ends of the ice.Reminder that Quinn Hughes is a defenseman who plays as little defense as possible.

It's weird how some people think that if a bad take is repeated enough that somehow it gains some truth? How you tell me you havent read the previous 15 pages without telling it directly.

It's okay. He just has an incredibly archaic view of what it means to play a particular position in today's NHL.
Quinn Hughes now has 1 more point than Makar in 8 less games. The reason why Makar is a regular on the PK is because the Refalanche D-Corps is absolute ass, having ECHL level garbage in Keaton Middleton and Girard as regulars.
Makar is the uncle Rico of the nhl. Peaked early and people constantly bring up how good he used to be lol. Quinn Hughes has been better offensively and defensively for 2 years now, and that's without riding Mackinnon and Rantanen's jockstraps

Ben Franklin: Defensemen need to do X, Y and Z. They HAVE to.
Modern day humans: um, sure. But they can also do A, B and C. And this guy does A, B and C so well he helps his team more than some of the best X, Y, Z players in the league.
Ben Franklin: hurr durr...defensemen big and strong. Must stand in front of net, push people hard, only thing matters.
There goes the hart argument!Canucks are doing great without him. Might not be so valuable to his team after all.
Normally I hate this argument. Typically, when your star player goes out, the rest of the team puts in more effort and can sometimes carry the load....however, the only reason I'd mention it here is simply because of all the commentary Hughes fans come with....he's the "only" thing going for that team, he "is the team", etc., etc. I simply don't think he should be in Hart contention (not saying no votes, but just not finalist in my opinion)....but....because of all those comments: 0.564 with him in the lineup and 0.625 without him.Canucks are doing great without him. Yes I don't necessarily agree with your assessment on Hughes but an elite player will stand out more when he's the only thing going for his team. A guy can earn an MVP award from that position but he shouldn't earn it because of it.Normally I hate this argument. What don’t you agree with? I didn’t really give much of an assessment other than to say he’s not in my top 3 for Hart contention. So he’s in your top 3?Yes I don't necessarily agree with your assessment on Hughes but an elite player will stand out more when he's the only thing going for his team. Hes been the better defenseman this season by a wide margin. Quinn gets sheltered o-zone starts and doesnt play any PK. Right there you should be DQ'd from Norris contention.Defensemen rarely win the Hart trophy. There is a pretty big chance Makar wins the Norris as well, especially if he scores 30 goals.
It's ignorant posts like these where I lose hope in Hughes ever getting another Norris. Seems a sizeable population in the east can't be bothered to watch his play and update their ingrained impression of a player from 2022-23 and continue to parrot outdated viewpoints. So sad he has a better chance at the Hart than the Norris because he doesnt play any actual defense. Should just made a hybrid position for him.

Best ability is availability “ remember nucks fans”. This is a two horse race, you’re not going to win any awards if you don’t play. Lankanin has been as valuable to the Canucks success this year. With the year Werenski is having, this has become a crowded room for the Norris.
That's going to change once he comes back with the additions to the Canuck defense as of late.4th highest time on ice , Tocchet plays him way too much. He is breaking down. And lots of games left.
Makar has the highest o-zone starts in the whole league. Werenski is also higher than Hughes.Hes been the better defenseman this season by a wide margin. Quinn gets sheltered o-zone starts and doesnt play any PK. Right there you should be DQ'd from Norris contention.
Don't expect him to acknowledge you.Makar has the highest o-zone starts in the whole league. Werenski is also higher than Hughes.
Can't wait to see how he spins this one.Makar has the highest o-zone starts in the whole league. Werenski is also higher than Hughes.
