Quinn Hughes Injured Massive Problems in Vancouver

In one of the 10 threads afflicted by the Makar - Hughes debate, a Canucks fan actually suggested Makar got injured to have ppg as a leg up on Hughes. Boy how the cookie crumbles, no?

Vancouver is so cursed this year

Hronek out, Miller missed time, Boeser / Hughes missed games earlier in the year and now Hughes is injured again. Petey out with an injury now. Dakota Joshua got cancer after a breakout year... DEMKO was out for a while with a freak knee injury. WOW!

this is the year where you dont trade any futures and just develop young / middling players.
Tom Willander as the top pairing D for Sweden is the future RD stud, dont trade him
Lekkerimaki has 11 goals in 15 games in the AHL, he's young, don't trade him.

just chill, ride this year out and go for next year.

It was a promising first 55 minutes without Hughes, then they collapsed as expected
lol it he wouldn’t have made a difference anyways as they never play him the last couple of mins when defending the lead.

Pull a Colorado. Have a bad year and end up with Schaefer.

There is a lot of truth in that statement. The guy is never on the ice the last two mins of a game when they have the lead unless they have a power play

He’s not on as often as Myers and Soucy with an empty net. That’s not the same thing.

If you rely on 1 player to be a good team you shouldn't be in the playoffs anyways. Next man up
Have you been paying attention? They are missing their #1 Norris-winning defenseman, #1a/b center, and #2 defenseman. Not to mention they lost their other #1a/b center for a month, their Vezina-finalist goaltender up until a few weeks ago and had one of their best grinders out with cancer.

Next man up, lmao.

Yeah next man up. Tighten up defensively, win different ways.

Looks like a good situation for a shrewd GM to weasel an unprotected first out of a desperate team and land a top 5 pick.
