Question about your loyalty to the Leafs

If you survived the Ballard years, you're a real Leafs fan forever!

I can't imagine ever giving up my allegiance. I could see myself sharing allegiance with another team if I my kid or a close family member was playing for another team in the league but that's about it.

nah if you were at all a leaf fan for the past decade and your STILL loyal to this team its no longer a geographical thing but more like a crippleing disease and its terminal. I grew up in london now i live in bc smack dab in the middle of canucks country and am still bleeding blue and white.

Couldn't even imagine cheering for another team.

I'm going to Europe over the spring/summer, and have already found the bars that are airing the live NHL games in each city i'm visiting.

Unless of course they somehow were to advance to the Stanley Cup finals, where at that point you will be able to locate me on the first plane back to Toronto, I wouldn't miss that for the world.

the only people who will disagree with this are those who enjoy seeing others' misery.... If you've ever lived in a city that isn't a Leafs rival and are a fan of HOCKEY how could you not wanna see the local club do good? (except against toronto of course)

You are a fan of your team and no other if you cheer for another team in the same sport you are front runner, as soon as I hear "my second team is" or I like a team from a different, league country division etc. i know they are full of crap and not a passionate fan. Leafs, Canada first, if the Ottawa Senators are playing a Al Queda pick up team I'm going to think about it.

Always a Leaf fan from birth.

Moved to St. John's and they got a AHL team, and when the Marlies come to town I find myself cheering for them instead

I have no second favorite team.....it is the Leafs and that is it! The hockey season ends when the Leafs are finished....I still watch games but have no vested interest in who wins....I will cheer for any team to beat the Habs.....the other games are just games.

I became a BC Leafs fan in the mid 80's. They were always on TV and the Canucks had ugly jerseys. The Canucks became my 2nd team but the constant hate from the fans and media towards the Leafs turned me away while solidifying my Leaf loyalty. I've been to Canucks games but only to support the visiting team.

I've been living in Alberta the past few years even though I think my HF profile still says Brampton. It will always be the leafs. If you're not the leafs I hate you.

I'm 21 years old now, I've been watching the leafs since I was 8 years old. My dad is the biggest leafs fan I have ever met. He got the blue and white spirit into my veins.

I remember the back to back years of the Devils taking us out, the Ottawa series with Alfie and Tucker, Nieuwendyk winning us game 7 against Ottawa, and Belfour putting on those ridiculous games in OT vs Philly.

I moved to Ottawa for college when I was 18 and have lived here ever since. Nothing prides me more then being in enemy territory and rubbing it in the Sens fans faces. I wear my jersey as often as I can and always bug Sens fens when given the chance.

It's absurd to think anyone would switch teams because of their geographic location!

Go Leafs Go !

Living in Ottawa right now. Lived in Toronto, lived in Montreal, lived in London, lived briefly in Vancouver and what do all these places have in common? I threw that bad ass blue and white Leaf jersey on and strutted around.

Embrace the hate:yo:

When I die, and my organs are ready for donation, they will find my heart is blue and in the shape of a maple leaf.

Have lived in 6 different cities over the past 8 years, some in Canada some internationally.

Only one of the cities I lived in had an nhl team (other than toronto), and I became a fan of that team during playoff runs. Was hard not to get caught up in the hype, especially considering the leafs were never in the playoffs.
While it was fun and all, it showed me more than anything how much I missed seeing the leafs in the playoffs. Which made me VERY angry at the decisions management was making. Which, well... turned me into the poster I've been the past few years.

Born in England, lived in Ontario for a few years and now I live in North Carolina. Was a Leafs fan before I moved to Canada and no plans on becoming a Canes fan. I am 100% Leafs - always have been, always will be.

No I could never switch, although I would cheer for my new city as well. In head to head matches I would be all Leafs

I wasn't born in Ontario and have never lived in Ontario and have been a diehard Leaf fan all my Life since the 1960's.

I live in Canuckland out here in BC and cheer passionately against the so called "home team" for me.

You don't have to live close to your favourite team to follow it closely and religiously.

So mess is a B.C bud!;)

You know, it's funny, the slogan of the Leafs "The Passion that Unites us All" initially seemed to be a corny marketing gimick and to an extent it is, but the more you look around the more you see it's actually true! The Toronto Maple Leafs is one of the great sports teams and has one of the most passionate fanbases in all of sports, certainly in a way that no other team in this city can compare to, no team in hockey can compare to (with the possible exception of Montreal, but even they aren't as large as us) and is on a level that not many teams reach. I know on these boards, and across the city we bicker, we fight about the direction of the team, every trade, every signing, everything to do with this team. Why? Because we care! That passion isn't limited to geographic area, and when we're finally good again and reach the pinnacle of our sport the sports world will see a fanbase united in celebration. That's what makes us special, to answer the initial question, our loyalty and our passion has no limits.

I bleed blue and white. Leafs all the way.

As someone mentioned previously, the only way I will switch my favourite team would be when my child or family member plays for another hockey club.

I've been out west for over 20 years. The unreasonable hate for all things Toronto wears you down to the point that you hate them back in return.

Before I moved out west I would root for all Canadian teams other than the Habs. Once I came out here (and with the rise of internet hockey forums), I wish nothing but ill will towards all other Canadian teams.
