I think the only way I wouldn't cheer for the leafs is if I had a son playing for a different NHL team.
This.

It's bad, but I'd still cheer for the Leafs, even if I had a kid playing for Carolina or something... It'd probably give my kid hell about being a Hurricane.
Haha, pretty much this.
You gotta be father first, Leafs fan second. I'd still cheer on the Leafs for every game they played against every other team, but if I had a kid playing against them, I'd be pretty excited to see him tear them to shreds. The fact that they're my team would make make me want to see him do that much better, in my opinion.
This. When I was younger I wouldn't be surprised if I switched, but no way I'd switch now
I'm a Leafs fan for life; even if I move to Russia.
I'd be a Leaf fan with a secondary team of wherever I'm living

There is a compromise.
Leafs win 5-3
Your kid gets a hat trick for the other team.
Everybody wins...except the other team.![]()
This question is primarily directed to fans of the Leafs who live in the Toronto area. Let's say you had to move to a different city that has an NHL team, permanently, would you still cheer for the Leafs? Or would you switch allegiances immediately to your new home town's team? Personally, I would still cheer for the Leafs through and through under this scenario. I wasn't even born in the GTA or Canada for that matter. Leafs are my team for life, that's it.
