Do we have to have braindead refs in the playoffs, too? Come on. Basic rulebook stuff.

Not if you drop all the pylons who are slow as hell and can't pass if their life depended on it. Also, that extra time to react when you get the puck would increase creativity and passing percentage.
What happened in the Olympics in 2014? That was more of a trap and grind fest then anything we have seen in the NHL since the prime Devils.

Huuughes. Clearly number one. Messi of the hockey.
Please stop. No, nothing like Messi. Messi is the best ever in the biggest sport. Messi is strong and stocky. Hughes is still thin as paper. Hughes is a prospect in a smaller sport. Messi is one of the greatest stars ever, if not the greatest.

Lmfao i havent posted for months but I just had to log on what a awful akward offside call

Same as the development in NHL hockey. It's much more difficult to trap when the opponents are so quick on their skates. A lot has happened in modern hockey the last couple of years. But sure, destructive coaches still play a role.

There were a lot of fast teams in that tournament lol Canada specifically was able to just totally neutralize everything on the big ice. I dont buy for a second that either ice surface inherently makes the game better or worse. The teams and the systems they use and how well they use them dictate that every single time.

Not a good call by the ref on that offside, but overall Russia still looked like the better team today. The US also got a powerplay for something by Kuznestov and I one couldn't even see what Kuznestov did. Good match by Team USA. Let the good hockey continue :).

great match tarnished in the last 2 minutes by the refs... first that terrible offside call and than USA gets a timeout even tho they had unsuccessful coaches challenge earlier in the game. I guess the rules are just a broad guideline for the refs.

That game was much closer than I expected... have to wonder if Larkin would have made a genuine difference.

Great game. Gavrikov is really good. I think he was our best D-man today. Vasy was as usual, like its Tampa all over again. Kucherov had a bad game, but Gusev delivered - 3 points. :thumbu:
