This happens way too often when we get too easy of an ride to the play-offs.

If Germany wins, who'll play them?

Actually I like what the Germans are doing in defence a lot. They not only get into the corner battles in time, but often will "steal" the puck before it even gets to it. I'm not even used to German teams playing that clever^^

Good, effective game by Germany. Sturm really taught the team how to run some proper forchecking, I like that. Sweden with a lot of easy giveaways in the offensive zone, guess they'll come out flying in the 2nd..

I mean.. I’m no expert but.. if we’re down 2-0 and haven’t done so much in terms of offense during the prelim.. why are we keeping Dahlin on the bench?

Well that went well... good game by Germany. Now they can back down and play a tight defence and win this easy. No way this Swedish team gets back. History should have tought us to prepare better for games like these.

Sweden is completely dominating the first half of the period but the ref still finds two swedish penalties and zero german penalties.
Finnish refs are not unbiased when it comes to Sweden the last tournaments I've seen so maybe it's the same here.

When you compare the rosters, this result surprises me none.

Germany: pretty much best possible roster that they can muster
Sweden: pretty craptastic

Sure. No draisaitl, Rieder, Dennis Seidenberg, Kühnhackl, Holzer, Greiss or Grubauer. But yea, pretty much the best roster only missing a full block.

Plus a few very good DEL players injured.

You could maybe also make a case for Tiffels (although he is not haveing a great season), Wiederer or Eisenschmid.

Hmm fits the trend eight years apart.
Salt Lake City 2002: Sweden Belarus, 3–4
Vancouver 2010: Sweden Slovakia, 3–4
Nowayitrytospellthiscityname 2018 Sweden Germany 3-4

So no need for yall to watch the game now.

I actually think that NHLs migth have done even more for the Germans then for the Swedes.
Migth sound weird but DEL vs NHL players is like the comparison boys vs men.
Therefor even borderline NHLers like Kuhn or Holzer would have given the German team a massive quality boost.
With the Swedish league and KHL players the quality gap to the NHL isn't that high. So altougth you can bring in better players on every position you still get a "limited" quality boost.

Hopefully we (Sweden) will turn this around, of course it would be very good for hockey if Germany wins but I would prefer Germany taking the next step vs other countries than Sweden... ;-)

Germans are effective but Sweden is in desperate need learning how to play tough but clean, physical without getting stupid penalties. Playing like old angry women with umbrellas will get us more penalties.

Those German names look pretty frigging good to me
Relatively speaking, only Lundqvist, Kronwall, Fasth&Enroth
are at the same level (or bigger) as names what those are

(obviously this is only my opinion)
