Yeah this was weird that we don't whine about the refs or something. We could've won this game.
Marjamäki might have been the worst coach in his tenure.
But he was the most criticised for the wrong things also. WC of hockey rosters were so uneven, we were like the 6th best team in a 8 team tournament with a puck control system.
The criticism he met after that tournament was not valid in my opinion.

But he's been among the worst. Eh, even with 'best' coaches we haven't won a gold in 7 years in the less valuable world championship and never won in Olympics.. It was kinda the worst expectation to have, go for gold or resign.

You guys have been fine this game, no whining.

You have handled yourselves with excellent attitude today.
Well, why did you bring it up in the first place then? Canada deserved to win this one and I haven't seen anyone to claim otherwise.

True. Feels bad that we had our best chance for olympic gold in a long time and we had a coach who has won nothing with NT.

Bring what up?

I was not making that comment in regards to anything your fans did today, they were great.

I was making that comment in regards to how in the past it has not always been that way among fans from other countries when they lose.

And yes, I was a little off the mark when implying that Canada never whines, we do at times, but I've noticed there is far less conspiracy talk among Canadian fans when they lose and that they don't tend to carry over perceived past slights in hockey games for nearly as long.

As least thats what I have noticed.

Now what to make about those pesky germans?

What an opportunity for those guys, they will be all piss and vinegar fired up for that game.

They concern me, you beat sweden.......................you can't be bad.

I wish the team would've showed some passion, some hunger. But that's what Marjamäki teams have been; Passionless hockey

It's very uncharacteristic for the Finnish Lions.

In the absence of high-end skill, Canada has to be about passion and work ethic.

Still a game of inches - it's not like the game was particularly one-sided.

Marjamäki period:

World Cup: 3 games, 0 wins, 3 losses | 1-9, -8 (last place)
WC: 9 games, 3 wins, 2 OT wins 4 losses | 26-31, -5 (super lucky 4th place)
OG: 5 games; 3 wins, 2 losses | 16-9 +5 (quarter finals)

= 17 games, 6 wins, 2 OT wins, 9 losses | 42-49, -7

wins vs: Belarus, Slovenia, Norway x 2, Switzerland, USA, Germany, (South)Korea

overall result: thank god that's over!!! Jukka Jalonen + next worlds here we come!!!

Thank god we get Jukka Jalonen back soon.

There are 0 reasons why that should instantly be a good thing. Systems get figured out constantly. If we get beat in semifinals, but it was 'good hockey', we haven't gone forwards one bit.
Let the coach do his thing though.
