GDT: Quarterfinal: Canada-Finland

Hartikainen was teeeerrible in the first, his passes were awful and actually causing counterattacks.
He's a step or two behind in every situation. Shouldn't even play in the third. Looks really sluggish, heavy and out of place. Not contributing with anything and being a risk factor, and this comes from a fan who thinks he was one of our best players when winning the Olympic gold.

Ok ive actually timetraveled to 2004. That was actually Koivu and Lehtinen against Brodeur. Thats the only way i can rationalize the fact that finland cant score.

Seeing the replay again for the Kakko pass, that's a major injustice to it by Kapanen for not scoring from that.

Will be 4 or 5-0 for team Canada. Montembeault easily the man of the match.

I think all lines for Finland has done some good, but every line has a bum.

Hartikainen - does not get the pucks he needs because they go to Rantanen
Suomela - Isn't good at hockey
Pesonen - Not the same energy as earlier games
Anttila - some giveaways and not as apt at getting the puck in the neutral zone and corners as we are used to.

According to the shot statistic Canada isn't dominating the Finns. Can anyone tell me if the game of the Finns is just to harmless are they able to create scoring chances or is Canada just much more dangerous? How is the game running? And how well is Larmi's goaltending? The catch rate of Larmi isn't so impressive, but I don't know if he is to blame for one of the Canadian goals.

Canada giving it all they can under duress.........that was the story of that period, well, and Monty. geez he's been good today and all tournament.

Having said that if anyone is calling this over they're f***ing nuts, Finland isn't going to fold that easily just because they are down a couple going into the third .

No way.

Finland has honestly been better in possession and creating scoring chances. Just cant score to save their lives.

First goal was on Ohtamaa and Larmi, second goal on Pokka and Friman.

Few scoring chances for the Finns, but mostly harmless perimeter possession, Canada deadly in the counters.
