Can't see Russia winning this one. Their only hope:

* Russian goalie stands on his head.
* Russia plays on fire after being embarrassed by the Czechs.
* The Americans confidence is shattered after the smoking by Canada.

Russia will need all 3 but come up short. U.S. lays them a beating after (last year's?) taunting. U.S. wins 5-2.

Yup, they couldn't ask for an easier road - Denmark and then Czech/Slovak.

This one is a toss-up, but I say USA takes it 4-2

Canada long time favourite rival is Russia and we love those games, however, the USA is starting to surpass the Bear and i hope the hockey Gods have us facing one or the other.Sweden-Finland- Czech- do not have enough history to get really excited about.
Russia- USA ( AMERKS ARE THE better team- 5-3 score.

The first lines for each team have been pretty good so far. USA's second line has been completely ineffective, and I don't expect that to change unfortunately for USA. They will need Larkin's line to come through for them again. Russia needs some secondary scoring as well. This game should be interesting as Russia always seems to play great against the US, but I think USA is stronger this year.

I don't think Russia has the best team this year, but they always seem to play well once we get to the elimination games, so I think they do have a chance, but I'm still taking the US to win this. Just too much depth on the USA squad.

If Russia turns the puck over half as much as they did against the Czechs..it will be the Americans who will be doing the schooling. But I do think Russia will rise to the occasion today so should be a closer game..but USA still wins this.

Whoever wins this game will have another tough match up in the semi-finals. This side of the playoff round will have to win 3 tough match ups in a row to take it all. It's going to be hard.

No skill? Have you watched any Canadian games this year? The team is not playing a grinding, cycling and hitting style this tournament at all.
