Just completely different opponent and style of play. Total offensive Russia vs defensive Slovakia. The last time our defenceman made a creative pass or offensive rush was in 1st period. Otherwise we are just dumping pucks from our zone and standing on the blueline.
 
I'm going to bed. If they can't be bothered to play, I can't be bothered to watch. So disappointed with this team.
 
I considered Slovakia to be the second worst team in the tournament, so for them to finish in the final four would be quite an achievement.
 
Czechs woke up a bit in the second, still they seem even more incapable of using some of the terrible mistakes that Slovak players offer them.

Please no more falling on your own butts in the third period, guys.
 
Oh great, another chance of watching team coached by Ernest Bokroš defending one-goal lead in third period. I feel sick to my stomach just thinking about it ...

Both teams have been awful. The slovaks have a very medicore crop of players. The type of age group you want to erase from your memory in 5-10 years. For some reason, a Czech team deep with talented forwards aren't doing anything, supplemented by a defense that should be paid given how often they sit their and spread their legs.

Ok, no one will deny that this is hardly Slovakia's most talented group of players, but I believe that it's too early to be writing all of them off just yet.

Some of themmight amount to something eventually. Not just Reway. I remember watching the 09 WJC team that made it to the semifinals and the only two players who were as good as Reway here then were Janus and Tatar and many of the other players looked pretty bad if you were to evaluate their individual game. Yet many of them are now playing in good European leagues and even for the men's national team.

And even if not, I don't give a ****, at least they are putting their hearts into the performance and giving it their all against opponents that are far more skilled than them. It's a quality I rarely ever get to see with my country's NT recently, so I'll take it.

Is this supposed to be impressive? Listing an undersized 19 year old goaltender, a limited defenseman and a penalty killer?

There aren't many interesting players on this squad. Reway and Cehlarik being the only legitimate NHL prospects right now.

The Czechs have been pretty awful every time i've watched (didn't see the Russian game), but it's fustrating because there are a number of good players.

I was under the impression this is the world championship, not some kind of NHL showcase.

This game is **** but this is ignorant horse crap as well.
 
Rooting for Slovakia. They've had a really hard 2014 at the Olympics & the WCs. This would of course also give Canada a pretty easy pathway to the final...
