Players jumping out of the way to avoid being hit and leaving their knee out further instead of getting hit shoulder on shoulder or shoulder to chest need to stop being bailed out by these penalties. It's why they keep doing it and it's why players will turn their backs along the boards when they see someone coming to hit them. It's a problem in the NHL and every league.

I love seeing Canada lose, but still feel bad for those kids. Enormous pressure from an entire hockey-crazy country. Now they feel they ley everyone down. They didn't pick or coach the team.

Hardly ever win a game with one dominant period though.

Yeah, that's what happened. The Czech bowling balled his own goalie with a Canadian and put the puck in his own net off his leg. Czech's second goal counted where Canada put the puck in their own net. Apparently if that defender knocked over his own goalie and got the net off the pegs it wouldn't have counted.

Im Canadian and the refs aren’t the reason they lost. Blaming the refs is embarrassing.

It’s not the kids fault but this team was put together horribly. The best players were left off and the expected result happened.
