I have to agree. I am a massive fan of this pick, and still see him as a stud (1 game won't sour me) but he didn't have a strong game, but none of them did.

overall though I’d say he had a good tournament. The USA coach Sandeline is a big time college coach but this tournament and his lines were questioned the minute he made them. Also, his usage of players and their TOI.
Not a great coached team this tournament in my opinion.

the defense core was one of the weakest in recent memory though and I didn’t really expect to get passed Canada or Russia.

I thought maybe Knight could put the team on his shoulders. Knight was really good. Annunen was outstanding today.

Caufield is one of the most prolific goal scorers in USA junior history. Not to mention he’s one of the best scorers in college as a freshman which is extremely rare. If people are judging players on one tournament good or bad then they’re doing it wrong.

Every time Kaliyev was out there the only thing he was doing was handing out giveaways. 3:27 is plenty of time to show that you can do more than that.

Disappointing tournament for USA. Couldn't get some of their offensive threats going. Coaching staff had little feel for suing the lineup.

Zegras, Emberson were the only players who were consistently impressive.

Id say
Zegras, Emberson, zack jones, Robertson and kaliyev were good enough, pinto prob belongs on the good list too.

The rest were pretty disappointing... Really wanted to see more from Turcotte, Caufield and Miller.

Drury was pretty much useless... not sure why he got so many mins and got the mins with guys like zegras… should have put zegras with higher skilled players.

Fully agreed. I didn't like any of his line combos or usage in general. The talent was there, the pieces were not fitting. Plus hero hockey in the 3rd was not working, draw up better plays.

I would say the defence was the weakest in recent memory, no real standout or stud on the blue line, not even a dominant top pair. but in saying that, I still think with a better coach, the team medals 100%.

Knight is outstanding, I was very impressed.

I'd say I respect your opinion, but that it is flat out wrong so I can't.

The players handing out giveaways were the top line. Pinto had several selfish and moronic turnovers. Robertson had a couple, especially one coming out of the defensive zone.
