Q sending message to Stalberg/Saad

LOL at ppl calling Q overrated because he benched a guy who hasn't done squat in the playoffs in his career.

What a joke.

Just out of curiosity, do you think Carcillo is better than Stalberg? Is he a better option this series? I'd prefer Stalberg in, but I'm not going to call for Q's head for this decision.

Talent wise no, but effectiveness on the ice is a wash the way Stalberg has been playing.

Q is sending a message, the coach coaches, and hes one of the best so I'm not disagreeing with a move that doesn't make hardly any difference at all. If he was benching Kane, or Toews or someone who was actually playing well, then complain.

don't worry, after this game 2 he will be back in game 3 for Carcillo

To expound upon that notion...just to be clear, and I know CarBomb has scored a couple clutch goals and notched recent assists.

Carcillo < Bollig < Mayers << Stalberg. THAT is the pecking order, and it's up for debate.

no wonder about that. Wonder about the lines. I know he did not really play bad, but I'd want Stalberg on line 1 with Saad on the 4th. Stalbergs speed just seems to create more of a mismatch on that line while Z covers Toews

I want Shaw on the 4th, Saad on the third and Stalberg on the 1st or some combination of both on those two on those lines.

I guess by that logic Q should bench Kruger, Saad, ect. My problem is it did not obviously have a a huge impact on the team. The media has been all over the past week and Q/Stalberg have had to answer for it several times. It's a distraction.

Stalberg practicing with Shaw/Bickell today on the 3rd line.

it was a completely stupid move that did nothing but cause a distraction. nobody even saw it coming until q put him in a white Jersey. totally stupid move, just like putting saad in white Jersey. started a damn circus for no reason

I agree, if your going to send a message, do it behind closed doors, don't do it in front of everyone then not answer the questions about it which only leads to more speculation and coverage. If he just came out and said, Stalberg did this or that the issue is over and people move on.

I think the whole thing is being overblown and I doubt the players were all that distracted by it. The results would be exactly the same had Stalberg played or not. Pretty much the entire team played like **** and lacked intensity in Game 2.

Stalberg wasn't playing all that great to begin with, and with Bolland coming back someone had to sit with this team's depth. You can argue that Carcillo shouldn't have played, which I would agree with, but it wouldn't have made much of a difference either way. But Stalberg will be back for Game 3 which is the right decision IMO.
