Oh sorry i misread your post. I thought you were one of those "because i'm not interested nobody is and it should not exist" guy. My mistake. It will take time for the league to succeed but i think it could eventually have at minimum a niche audience. Like in said i think there's value in watching athletes that you can aspire to become when you are young.
Time will tell I suppose...but unless there is a big change within the targeted demographic towards their interest and financial support of sports in general I won't hold my breath.

Are they trying to make super hero/villains teams?

and? soccer women only play with women from early age, that same team got destroyed by 15 years old kids and not to mention they're led by sociopaths/narcissist/self centered/paid shills to push political agendas that are meant to divide the western world.

Those 2 groups have nothing in common

Yeah......they're the problem right? :dunce:

I have 0 interest in women hockey and I feel most people claiming otherwise are juste virtue signaling.

My sisters who are HUGE hockey fans and sports enthusiast will tell me how good it is for women and women sports… and will end up watching 0 game and buying 0 ticket, all while barely missing any Habs game. This tells me all I need to know about the future popularity of the league.

History would suggest that you are not wrong but I would hold off on the nihilistic approach as this appears to be the strongest product that has yet to be put out.

I hope it succeeds and will take my daughter to a game in support of the league.

Kinda lame a bit. Hopefully this is just a placeholder until they get they get an actual name and logo.

My guess, it'll be like this for the inaugural season. It is disappointing, but I'm okay with this. I like Montreal's vintage look going with the off-white.

I do hope they won't be the Montreal Echo and hope they go with a different name. But I'm mentally preparing them to be the Echo.

When the CWHL started, teams were with the names of the cities instead of logos.

Then they became the Montreal Stars when revealed their logo. And then with the same logo, they changed it to Les Canadiennes (my preferred name).

Looks like every team will have just the city's name on their jerseys with the color scheme to start.

I do like that Montreal's white jerseys are off-white.

Those Jerseys are sick!

I hope people buy a lot of them and it promotes the league. I want one of those white ones in regular sweater form!

How much are these ladies getting paid?

I don't think their salaries are disclosed. And I haven't seen anywhere now much they get paid. I do believe they get paid enough to just play hockey, which wasn't the case with previous leagues, where a lot of women had to have careers outside of hockey because they weren't making enough just with hockey.

But more than just their salaries, there are a lot of things players have in the CBA that they never had before. And they could be as simple as pre-game and post-game meals (their stipends in previous leagues only afforded them gas station sandwhiches), parking (they used to have to park in the streets and run out to pay the meter before it runs out). Things you never realized they didn't have before.

According to the Toronto Star, PWHL player salaries will range from $35,000 to $80,000 (USD) combining with a CBA that puts female hockey players into a sturdy professional environment for the first time in North America.
