The Victoire PWHL Montreal

It's going to be interesting to see next season, but I feel like the Victoire is going to have only Ambrose at D and NY is going to sucks even more.

They basically built two superteams while gutting the other 6 teams.

An expansion team shouldn't be able to get the highest scoring fwd/D in the league (Hilary Knight and Sophie Jacques).

Also, Montreal 4 players were between 23 and 26 years old, so the teams will get them for a while.

3 protection slots (and a 4th that opens after 2 picks) is crazy low even if the PWHL teams aren't as deep as NHL teams.

It definitely hurts, hope they'll be able to fill those spots adequately with the internal options they have :help: Still, it's all for the good of the league in the end.

Not so sure it will be great in the short term. Lots of grumblings from the O6 fans. It's going to get worse if Seattle and Vancouver end up being top teams next year.

Now was the right time to expand and it's better if the new teams are competitive IMO, especially in a new league like that. It's okay, as long as they're not dumb and start adding franchises way too fast.

It definitely hurts but it's a win if the two new teams are as competitive.

There's still the draft coming up so there's an opportunity for teams to rebuild some of their depth.

I have no issue with them being competitive, the issue that many see is that they could be #1 and #2 from the get go and stay there a while.

It sucks Victoire lost players who played key roles that contributed to their success. But that is the price to pay for having 2 new franchises coming in at the same time. And that is also a good sign that the league is growing.

It wouldn't surprise me if there is one or even two more teams added next year. I'm thinking Pittsburgh will be one of those teams. I also bet Detroit will come in at some point. This is why they did the tours. Gauge fan interest and to any possible owners, it's also a way to see potential sponsors and other business opportunities.

They don't have the players for two more teams.
