Never minded him before, but now I hope Neil absolutely rocks him tomorrow.

What a whiny little child.

Ya lame.

Doesn't look good on him, that is for sure. I bet the players here have an opinion of his game too...

Don't really care - what do we expect him to say? Blame it on opportunity or himself?

Ummmm saying nothing is an option, or taking the high road and keeping the conversation focused on his new team/opportunity.

Not only that, but he should really consider the fact the he very easily could end up getting waived again when the Rangers are back to full health...

I gave him the benefit of the doubt a lot in the past. Now I will give the 3rd coach in his career the benefit of the doubt in that he's not that great of a player, and that we can afford to lose him.

Too many other good prospects are going to be needing a look in the next few years, White could be here as early as this season. Puempel had his chance, and it was time for everyone to move on.

Heatley showed he could score goals with not so talented people.

I'm also wondering how Puempel played with Kelly over the past 2 years considering Kelly was with the Bruins... are you joking and saying he sucked so bad he played for the other team? Don't let facts get in your way though. It's the end of the world! Just like when Prince left and now the Islanders are a powerhouse!

Nah man we signed Kelly summer 2015. Get ur hed straight

Puempel played 52 games for the sens with 6 points. Dzingel has 10 points just this year. I do understand his statement somewhat because he was stuck on the fourth line, but he was given chances on the top lines/power play at times showing absolutely nothing.

Dzingel on the other hand was dangerous even on the fourth line, showing something at least. I will give Puempel the rest of the season to see how he ends up, but I would say it is way premature to act like he is somebody. He could probably end up waived if he has a drought or end up on the fourth line again depending on output.

Yup. Sort of my take on it.

He is free to say whatever he wants, but as a fan I feel like we have given new young players opportunities. Like Dzingel this year. He's played very well in camp so he got to play with the league. He showed he's been good and responsible player and earned top line minutes (and has done well with them). He's always a threat on the ice.

These comments make me happy we waived him. It just makes him look like a whiny kid.

Also Boucher... such a wonderful speaker. Now that's how you answer a question!

Pretty much. Sens spent 5 years developing him. He should be bloody thankful for the opportunity he never took advantage of. Not talking bad about the team that gave him more them enough chances.
Players like Dzingel were given much shorter leashes and made much more of the opportunity.

I don't disagree with him in that he wasn't given a role he's suited for.

He was awful in every role he was given here.

All the best to him in New York, a place where he should see success as they score at will.

I agree with you. I don't hate the guy as I think he was not used properly and he is entitled to his opinion which agrees with what others have said about him. Given what I have seen of him, I think he has one high end skill: his shot. His other skills are average or less.

He's now put even more pressure on himself to show something. I am genuinely curious as to what he'll do with a different opportunity now. I have no idea.

Barely noticed you when you played here, matt. You couldn't even pass it to Karlsson.

Man. I'm pretty sure he played a single game. I'm pretty sure when the starts laming it up in new York, they are going to tell him to simplify. How can he make a comparison so soon.

If Z-bad doesn't break his leg, the Rangers don't pick Puempel off waivers. Dude should mix in a reality check.

Puempel is the product of the "ME" generation hooray for me and the Hell with everybody else......

He is a prima donna and athlete who has been pampered in his life and he suffers from a sense of entitlement..................

1st round draft pick all adds to it...... All part of the society we live in today......

They should teach these kids to put a sock in their pie hole and shut up.... People watch him play they don't want to listen to his BS......

Wonder if Zibanejad actually saw something in Puempelis and told NYR to claim.

I mean i think we could have put him in a position to succeed more but that might not have been in the teams best interest in terms of Puemple points vs Ottawa wins.

I had this exact same conversation with a coworker at work about another coworker. I want to tell him to put a sock in it and just show me you can do a good job with simple patients.

As someone who's on the cusp of being a millennial (I can't feel good about being full millennial)... this is an attitude a lot of people have and in the nursing world that's ****ing scary!

I am definitely ok with him being gone. At least a player like Lazar just takes what he's given and goes with it. Or like when Pageau went back to bingo and he said that's ok... I'll just earn my spot back by being the best player here.

Can we stop crapping on millennials already? Puemple is hardly the first player of any generation to whine about his previous team.

The selfish generations need something to chirp at others about.

"Here I Pageau Again":

Lazar is a much diff person just happy to be playing hockey..... Sad that Ottawa did not allow him to develop in Binghamton for a whole season that is what he needs..... Their mistake........

Pageau just a hard worker who gives you what he has......

As for Puempel 1 dimension player I suggest the Rags sign SDC then Puempel will do better.....

Sure, he could do that - but given that he' couldn't get it done while here, I really can't get myself worked up about it. Like you've pointed out - lots of good prospects to take his place.

with a showdown against the new york rangers looming on sunday night, guy boucher refused to get into a war of words with matt puempel.

The normally talkative boucher was not in the mood to discuss negative comments about his coaching staff attributed to puempel in saturday's edition of the new york post. The senators head coach interrupted tsn's brent wallace mid-question, as the reporter was in the middle of relaying a portion of puempel's controversial quote to boucher.

"i don't want to hear about another team's player. He's not on our roster. I wish him good luck. That's it," boucher said flatly. "when they're here we talk about them and we grow with them. And when they are somewhere else, they are somewhere else."
in stark contrast to this comment, boucher indicated that many of his players have embraced his system at the 20-game mark of the season and their acceptance of his style is a major reason why the team is sitting with a 12-7-1 record. The club has cleaned up inconsistent play in their own zone and currently have the nhl's best winning percentage in one-goal games this season, showing significant progress from a year ago.

"those things - at the beginning of the year - weren't there and we know that. And to see the players growing that fast has been a real treat for me as a coach. It's fun to come to the rink. There's an enthusiasm and there's a soul to our team," said boucher.

If Zibanejad is calling the shots for the Rangers management... that's a really bad thing for the Rangers, not a good thing. It's one thing to offer up your opinion when asked... but what you're saying is different.

Neil has been more dangerous offensively this season then Puempel when they were on the same line together. They each are averaging 1 shot per game this season.

This whole he wasn't getting a chance playing with Neil and Kelly is such crap. That line has cycled and generated good offensive zone possession lots of times this year. Puempel even got some PP time.

Puempel had a ton of chances, like 4 training camps. He never really showed very much at any time. He was decent in a handful of games from time to time. But not enough to deserve getting put on top lines over other wingers.

Frankly if you put Neil with Smith and Pageau he might score more goals then Puempel would.
