I know it’s a preseason home game.

But you had to have been happy both with what the D group looked like and Lindholm.

It’s still a team lacking an impact forward, but if the contract gets worked out, everything else looks like it could fall into place.

I hope Brad will be feeling better soon.

I had a problem with HF on my cell. I never have to log on but tonight I wasn't logged on and it would not let me (security problem??) I don't get what went wrong.

Fun game tonight. No one had a bad game.

Both Kastelic and Koepke looked great.

Come on Sway...join the party (and dump your agent)

Online sources say NHL agent commission is 3 to 5%. On a $64M contract, Sway would save $1.92 to $3.2 million if he follows Dafoe’s example, dumps the agent, and closes his own deal.

Excited of all the potential on this team.

Tyler Johnson: Some speed. Smart player. Tons of playoff experience which is nice. Hopefully he wins (earns) a spot.
Brazeau: For a big guy he uses his reach, excellent passer and showed some good instincts. Did a nice job crowding the net.
Bussi: Looked more relaxed tonite. 26 years old? Hmmm. A bit older than another goalie we know of.

Korpisalo and Bussi have both looked okay so I'm starting to wonder what would actually have the biggest impact for this team? The return of a top 10 NHL goalie or the addition of a scoring forward/winger that we might get in a trade for that goaltender?

Just a thought.

Good game.

You could see some chemistry on the Pasta line and with Lindholm on the PP.
D looked strong.
Coyle and Geekie looked good together.
Tyler Johnson had another good game and was moving well in the neutral zone.
Brazeau had another solid game. Beecher played his best game.
Bussi strong other than one bad rebound.
Kastellic was great, constantly stirring the pot.

Only negative was Marchand leaving early.

The Big Smoke (unfortunately)
I didn't have access to view ..how did E. Lindholm look in his first preseason game?
He looked very good and he and Pasta (and Zacha) looked even better together. Just wait until they gel and start to learn each other’s tendencies (and develop a telepathic communication connection!)

Thought the D looked great too. Transitioned the puck from out of their own zone effortlessly. I can really only recall one occasion when they got hemmed-in. One. Hampus looks to be back in form too, although Lohrei was questionable at times, but he can sure create with the puck.

It’s Bennett for me. Has to pay
Yup. And the other one. Play like there’s no puck.

not sure I even watched a Hawks game last year other than those vs the B`s and couldn`t recall seeing Johnson, honestly didn`t know he still had that footspeed

Bussi, like others who now have had some time to get some solid practice in, looked more comfortable

I was impressed with Zadorov's play in the O zone. He made a lot of good plays, including that pass on the Brazeau goal. You could make an argument for putting any of the LDs up with McAvoy in any given situation. Great to have that depth and flexibility.

E Lindholm looked great, and as advertised. Pasta looked like he was shaking off some rust, at least in the first part of the game.

Loved the 4th line energy and the havoc they created. Kastelic and Koepke were feisty and sandpapery. Good stuff.

2 little takeaways - the PP goal was scored bc there was movement. if brad comes back and they don't move, id drop him bc thats the death of the bruins pp.

coyle and freddy have always played well together - why did they find that out 2 years ago and then spend a whole season trying to separate them? just seems like a weird decision to me this morning.

The Bruins aren't giving up a lot shots. The one goal Bussi allowed was off a rebound, and against two high-skill players.

As Brick mentioned, rotating E. Lindholm and Johnson in the bumper on the PP is effective, and definitely helps Johnson's quest for a contract.

Michkov is dangerous offensively, but not that noticeable otherwise. Will be interesting seeing how that goes with Torts.

Liked seeing the Flyers play Hathaway and Drysdale at the same time.

I only watched the highlights but I thought both Lindholms and Brazeau looked particularly good to my eye. Brazeau continuing to impress - I really do think he could be 2RW at some point, he just gets it.

Did these guys all look as good during the full game as they did during highlights?

You would think here is either language in the players agent agreement against being able to do that or Swayman would get sued for the fee. This long into the negotiations
Swayman would be unlikely prevail.

Was that the Flyers full roster? It’s going to be a long year for them.
They had enough RS players in there. However, I would be very surprised if they don't continue to improve under Tortorella. With the exception of Vancouver whenever he has taken a team, they improve significantly by year 3 from year 1. They missed the PO by 5 points last year.

Zadorov smiles a lot, so he looks like he is having fun out there.
