If this type of play is a preview of things to come...

Nashville was just overwhelmed, never even a game.

Porty tweeted that Prout had a tough night.

Porty was right. I didn't think Prout did himself any favors last night. Made some bad decisions, had that brutal turnover, and on a team with good speed, to me he looks slow.

I will be surprised if he is in the top 6 D.

And, props to Boll last night. He had a real good game in my opinion. I am not sure who he fought last night, but damn, Boll just annihilated the guy. And the guy went after Boll for a perfectly good hockey hit. A guy gets flattened with a clean hit because he has his head down, that is on him. But the Pred guy payed for going after Boll. Hope Boll is on a mission this season and keeps this up.

I agree about Boll. Strong game and really an even stronger camp. Loved seeing how fired up Boll was after the fight. Ive been as critical as everyone else about Boll, but this camp has reminded me of the player he can be when he is healthy and involved. Boll deserves to start the season on the 4th line IMO.

Now, how long he will last is anyones guess.

Here's the good thing. Even if he can't/doesn't keep it up (and I hope he does, because I'm a fan of his) the team should be OK. It doesn't need Boll to be a factor to be successful, not because he's marginalized but because there are other players who can play when he's having a rough patch and it wouldn't just be because "he's gotta be better than Jared".

Good call.

And I am not sure that there might be some games where someone else suits up based on the match-up with the other team. Boll is not the only guy that has had a good camp.

That deflection of his last night was a thing of beauty. Hopefully it wasn't a "blind squirrel finds an acorn" thing and Boll is legitimately going to work hard in front of the net.

Unfortunately in the past we've had other players who could have filled in for Boll, but Boll was kept in the lineup regardless of play.
