BTW, how can anyone criticize anything they've seen from DeAngelo so far? Everything is so quick in terms of transition.

I was hoping Graves would turn heads enough to be considered almost ready but it hasn't looked too amazing, so far.

If ADA isn't on this team and on second pp unit I will not be happy

I still think Graves could be a very solid #6.
Will be very interesting to see who we go with for #6 and #7 going into the season (assuming that at least one of Staal and Holden is in there)

He's pretty solid but not really a standout

I'd be happy to have him on the 3rd pairing at some point though

Smith and Graves both stumbled and looked drunk in the defensive zone.

You can tell Ruff has this defense playing the way he wants (for the most part) tonight. Very reminiscent of how they looked in Dallas regarding the short breakout structure with support down low in the defensive zone.

Agree. Before the sudden influx of sudden influx of defensemen in the off season, ADA, Shattenkirk, Bereglazov, Pionk, that 3rd pairing spot would have been Graves's sooner or later but now there's a lot of competition. With Staal and Holden still around, it just feels like there's no way he's making the lineup unless a full off season and a half of moves happen.
