Canaucks fan here.

A read a lot of comments like
"we're out shooting them and out playing them but we're losing?"

Over the last 3 years the Canucks have won A LOT of games..and they were 'out played' or outshot or out chanced in probably 70% of the games they win

Canucks are a team that is really really good at finishing...they dont get a lot of shots in general... but they usually capitalize on the few chances they get... Instead of making the easy play which would result in a good shot on net, a Canuck will try some dipsy doodle sh** and try to convert it into a higher quality chance.
Its HELLA frustrating when it doesn work..but yeah..
reading the comments in this thread is just like reading the comments in any other opposing teams thread when the Canucks win.
Luongo either plays great, or craps the bed. Canucks get outshot but capitalize on the few chances they get (tips, PP, cutesy type goals)

shooting 25% though is crazy. also i dont know how you can call some of those goals capitalizing on higher quality chances. 4 of the goals were deflections which do require some skill but also a lot of puck luck.

A ton of shots straight into the goalies chest? Strange to hear the other team say that, maybe its an AV thing and he has a weird shooter tutor with a bullseye in the middle of the net.

Who cares? Even 1% shooting percentage is higher than the Ranger's 0%. I'm not a Canucks fan at all but if your team can't get a puck in, it doesn't matter what the 'statistical anomaly' is.

If would have to be 5+ on the Rangers, or else we'd have a stalemate every game.

Its a disgusting preseason. Nothing to even hope for.

Staal looking back to normal automatically nullifies any concerns from me over the preseason. They'd have to be absolutely awful all year to miss the playoffs with this defense and Hank. They've been playing without their 2nd most valuable skater all preseason. That doesn't justify certain players' bad performances, but Stepan is the straw that stirs the drink, on offense.

They have a new coach, and are literally missing a 1s/2nd line worth of forwards.

I didn't get to see much of the game...do they still do the "Dump and Chase" on the PP while looking like a bunch of "Keystone Cops" trying to chase the puck around !!
