Theres nothing positive about this from any POV. It was a disgusting game.

Im not expecting people to act like me, im insane. But people cant be happy about this.

no one's happy John. This is just a ignore the lemon life gives you and talk about the dessert you're going to have 2 weeks from now.

Not happy about it. But I'm also saying Canucks fans shouldn't be happy either, at all. Being outshot 41-20 is embarrassing and a bad indicator of future success..

If we outshoot our opponents 41-20 on a nightly basis we'll lock up the President's Trophy by game 70.

But McD-Girardi were pure excrement out there. They've been bad all of pre-season. -3 and deserved it 100%.

tough one. Score doesn't reflect the game but that's how it happens sometimes. Love Jesper Fast and still see no use for either Brian Boyle or Taylor Pyatt. A good player is going to go to Hartford so that Boyle and/or Pyatt can stay here and that's a shame. Richards made some good plays and was chasing some also. Hank was bad; hopefully I won't have to say that again anytime soon. Thought MDZ was very good tonight which is encouraging.

Lots of shots. Less quality scoring opportunities, but there were some.

Richards is looking a lot better, IMO. Zucc is going to be a solid contributor this season, without a doubt. Miller looks more ready for a roster spot than Kreider, IMO. I think he looks pretty good. John Moore is something else. I think he'll have the second most defensive points on the team behind bonehead Del Zotto (so much talent, so little brains) if he gets PP time. Although Staal also looks primed to breakout offensively a bit. We miss Hagelin's speed big time. He's such a catalyst. Need Stepan as well. And of course Callahan, all around. They will be huge additions. And you can take comfort in knowing the likelihood of Lundqvist having another game like that in the next 12-18 months is pretty slim.

Nash bothers me. He seems to float a lot. He reaches for pucks instead of moving his feet to get to them. He will lay the body on the boards but he won't chase down the other guy and pester him to get the puck back. He took lazy penalties. When the puck is on his stick he seems to NEVER make the simple, or smart, play. He always choose to try the difficult way. Sometimes it results in some really breath taking successes, which are his highlight reel goals and assists that keep everyone happy. More often than not, however, it leads to nothing. He'd rather spin backwards, try to reach around the defender, toe drag with his back to the net, turn and fire a shot from 35 feet out than make the simple shovel pass to the open man and try to get himself open again to get the puck back. He needs to start doing things the easy way, exert less energy trying to be a one man show and exert more energy trying to get the puck back on the forecheck. These aren't my observations based on the pre-season, they are my complaints about Nash throughout his career. Electrifying player. Needs to play a team game, buy into the system and take the simple play that's there rather than try to force the one-man play that isn't.

Mostly bad bounces and bad goaltending. But Stralman was great, huh?

Thought John Moore looked excellent out there. Fast looks good too. Otherwise.. 4 of the 5 goals were deflected pucks. Horrible luck tonight combined with crap defense.

Deflections aren't always "luck" for the other team. Deflections take a considerable amount of skill actually especially the 4th goal.

Liking Moore from you guys and Richards has definitely looked better. You guys will be fine with Stepan, Kreider, Callahan etc back. It's just the preseason.

Canaucks fan here.

A read a lot of comments like
"we're out shooting them and out playing them but we're losing?"

Over the last 3 years the Canucks have won A LOT of games..and they were 'out played' or outshot or out chanced in probably 70% of the games they win

Canucks are a team that is really really good at finishing...they dont get a lot of shots in general... but they usually capitalize on the few chances they get... Instead of making the easy play which would result in a good shot on net, a Canuck will try some dipsy doodle sh** and try to convert it into a higher quality chance.
Its HELLA frustrating when it doesn work..but yeah..
reading the comments in this thread is just like reading the comments in any other opposing teams thread when the Canucks win.
Luongo either plays great, or craps the bed. Canucks get outshot but capitalize on the few chances they get (tips, PP, cutesy type goals)

It's similar to when the philosophy is "just get pucks to the net because this goalie sucks." 20 crappy shots into the game you've got no goals on the scoreboard and all of a sudden Neuvirth has a ton of confidence.

I like Fast but i think he needs a little bit more seasoning yet
