Thanks. Not expecting big things from him could still be valuable even on the 3rd pairing.

How the Rangers looking without Stepan down the middle? I think he was underrated, that depth helped the 3rd & 4th lines do damage last year

Very difficult to say, as its a wild mix of NHL and lower league players. Will probably need to face significantly stiffer opposition before we can evaluate properly. But saying that, our centers have looked mostly good this far (to my knowledge) :)

Hayes and Miller have looked good so far, albeit, in limited time. I don't think anyone is really worried about Zibs too much.

DD looked perfectly capable of being 4C in the last game. Chytil was dynamite, but should get more seasoning in Europe. Andersson was solid as well.

I worry if there is an injury to one of the centers how they can handle it. If they stay healthy, I think they will be fine.

Questions about roster spots like DeAngelo and how the centers are doing are questions that aren't going to really be known until late in the preseason at this point. Right now they're kind of sorting through the AHLers and such. When competition heats up and there's more emphasis on evaluating NHLers and configuring lines, we'll get a better idea.

Right now it looks like DeAngelo has some competition with Pionk, whom the Rangers seem to really like if the chances they're giving him are any indication. Might also have it with Bereglazov depending on how he looks

Chytil leedle leedle lee

i wish i could change the first leedle to Chytil. still think Chytiljuice is the better nickname.

uhhh LGR? :yo:

Wishful thinking indeed. If Staal is just on the bottom pairing with limited mins, then I am satisfied for the most part. Doubt they are going to scratch a healthy 5 million dollar player. But we shall see.

We sent Redden to the minors so there is precedent.
The difference being that we knew we could buy him out with no penalties. Possibly they want to play Staal to show that he may have value to a team somwhere if he eat salary or add something in a trade

no difference is redden didn't count against the cap. if the current rules existed he would have never been sent down

He counted when scratched, just like Staal would.
It was a bad analogy on my part because we cant send Staal to the AHL, but we have scratched large contracts before so 'platooning' Staal as a #7 isnt outside the realm of possibly or something we haven't done before

I think we buried kasparitus as well at the end. Either way, I think the closest you'll get is a task eventually being the #8 scratch like Klein late last season.

Yeah agreed. With Girardi being bought out would think the Rangers will try and get some trade value, hence he will play. But if Staal is going to move, it's going to cost the Rangers something in return, either a pick, or salary retained. They are not going to buy him out also, after Girardi, too much dead cap in too many years.

Chytil on arguably our strongest line for this game (again)...and at Center (again).

AV likes him.

If he flourishes again tonight, I think we'll be watching Chytil on MSG come October.

The fact that AV FINALLY likes one of our prospects is fantastic.
