I think Lias and Chytil are both locks for the team. Kravtsov may start in Hartford but I don't think he'll stay there very long.

Pretty wild that Shesty gave up 4 goals and he was still our best player by far

Wouldn't be surprised if Kravstov gets sent to Hartford. He clearly drips talent but it seems he's having trouble finding space for himself.

I get the same feeling. Especially considering they have 12 other healthy forwards who should also be in the lineup. Still a few games left but I don't think starting the season in Hartford would be the worst thing in the world.

Igor gets the 1st, 2nd and 3rd star--that's with 4 goals against and a bunch of posts because he was good but the rest of the team were really bad.

The Rangers over the last 3 years have helped to make me a much better guitar player because when they start playing like **** out comes the guitar and the headphones and every once in a while I look up and see what's happening on the TV but usually it ain't good......tonight was one of those nights. I come up with some of my best riffs this way.

Time to make some cuts.

Freebird!!!

Lias has taken strides for sure. Dude can move better on the ice and has the same type of impact physically.

He should be a lock for this team.
I'd be surprised if he makes the team. Or if he does,... stays with the team.

I don't get the Lias love. He can't PK, is not strong in the corners, doesn't bring much offensively, unless he picks up some garbage infront, and doesn't impress me defensively. That said he not as bad as some of our other youngsters, but I think he needs more time to grow.

After these three games, you can bet the coaches are going to go with a more mature line up to open the season. And limit the amount of youngsters. I'm not sure he stays up here, even if he makes it out of camp.

There’s not really an option for a mature lineup

Lias has looked completely different — in a good way this season.

Not sure what you’re watching.

I didn't say he hasn't improved, but he's got a long way to go in playing a full season for us. I don't see it happening.

This team is going to be a train wreck defensively again.
To many finesse FWDs that aren't willing to backcheck to go along with a terrible system that relies way too much on individual efforts as opposed to playing as a team..

They will limit the youngsters.
Chytil yes
Kakko yes
Fox yes
Kratsov yes
The rest, very iffy.

How many more youngsters can this team afford to carry?

Chytil and Andersson are basically vets in this organization. There's no one left, unless you want guys like O'Regan and Haley getting significant starts.

I will never ever understand why nhl coaches with such a short amount of time before the season starts, waste time with guys who will never lace em up for your team.

Preseason is the time you want your guys to get ready to play...if you want to see what these other guys have...start em in Hartford...this time needs to be for the guys with legit chances to make the team.

Every god damn coach has done this bs for as long as I can remember and I effing hate it.

Coaches prefer to explain a loss in October than an injury in September.

Hey guys, coming in peace --

- Thought Shesty looked great tonight. I've been impressed every time I've seen him, the hype is legitimate.
- Fox is ready.
- Thoughts and prayers (and parcels of Advil) to Ryan Lindgren, who seemed to be on the painful end of every wayward shot, stick, and goal post in the game.

It won't be long until the Rangers and Flyers are battling for the division again. Probably sooner than most think!

Imagine thinking that NHL players shouldn't be conditioned or can't play back to back games just because it's preseason..

I was expecting this answer and I personally hate it. You could injure yourself in practice just as easily...yet guys practice hard. Getting chemistry, systems etc down takes time and games..it’s such a waste of time to not take advantage of these games to learn something about what works and what doesn’t.

Why even have preseason games if you don’t want to risk injury? Why play stars at all?

I don't think that's a legit reason... injuries happen and they are for the most part out of the control of the couch. No reasonable hockey fan is going to get on a couch for an injury that happened while he was trying to get his vets up to speed before the season kicks off

With that said, I think most of the cuts will be made after this game and the next 3(?) will feature a mostly complete lineup. Also, I think Quinn realizes we're still in a bit of a rebuilt and so he wants some of these younger guys to get a good taste of the NHL so they they can "sleep on" the things required to be successful in the NHL
