Andersson will be a quality 3rd liner.
Which, I guess, in a vacuum as the 7th overall pick, is a bit disappointing. Luckily, we drafted Chytil right after him. From day one, it was obvious to me who was the more gifted player - Chytil is starting to put it together and I think he takes a big step forward this season as a CENTER.

Is Nick Jones known as a shooter? He's not the Jones they just drafted, right? What's the upside on this fellow?

Everyone is trashing the defense but the shots are 40-17. Guys like Skjei and Trouba have nothing to play for. They’re the defacto 1/2 no matter what for the next couple years. The rest are trying to make the team or won’t be on the team. They’re playing 70% of the game in their end. Regardless of the score, the only D whose looked overmatched is Robertson and he’s headed back to juniors which is no surprise. You really think Trouba is going to give 75%+ in a meaningless game where the D is hemmed in for more than 2/3 of the game?

Understandable, but when you look at the whole picture, being a quality 3rd liner still helps fill the puzzle. I don't see the offensive talent to be a top 6 forward, but, he's does a lot of good things that help good teams win.

Could end up with a SV% north of .900 despite allowing 4 goals

He reminds me of Hank a bit with the quick lateral movement

Yes, he grew up watching Hank closely. Benny has been working with him for a bit now, we’ll continue to see a lot of parallels between him and Hank. Shesty has a better glove hand for sure.

I think people sometimes forget, especially since we're playing a rival and losing to a rival is never painless, that when it comes to veterans the preseason is really just for stretching your legs out

First positive comment of the night for me.

I’ve been beyond impressed with Adam Fox. His intelligence is outstanding. Keep thinking he’s going to find himself in a pickle in the defensive zone, but he is a breakout whiz.
Agree. He's going to be a one man breakout machine as he gets more settled in.

I've been saying since Traverse Nick Jones should be considered for an ELC. Like what he brings.
We'd have been talking about Jones a lot more if KK and Fox didn't steal the TC spotlight
