Game got much better as the penalty count went down.
- Fast had a strong showing with Andersson
- Hayes and Kreider looked like vets easing into a new season
- Fogarty and new-Hossa worked their way into the game well
- ADA's positioning was better than I expected, he just needs to clean up some errant passes
- I was hoping for more out of Nieves, if Howden can have a strong showing you have to almost think his window is closed to frack the roster as a center
- O'Gara got better as the game went along
- Both goalies looked pretty good but Mazarec's technique just looked 'off'

O'Gara and Meskanen had good games. I was actually pretty surprised at how well O'Gara played. He was better than both Claesson and Staal, in my opinion.

Buch and Lias were great. Hayes looked lazy.

The Devils board think we are celebrating the Stanley cup here, but it was unexpected and we were behind the whole game is difficult in hockey so to win it in OT felt really good! :)

- Lias
- Buch
- Fast

All three had a huge game, but it was a team win and many others contributed as well!

Meskanen is a guy I want to see at least a couple more times. He plays a style that is similar to Fast and Andersson. Hard on pucks all over the ice and skates well. He has some skill too, you can see it.

Lindgren was as advertised. He’s a defense-first defenseman but his skating and ability to read plays are going to serve him well moving forward. I was impressed.

Gettinger is raw but he reminds me a bit of Weise when we first saw him. Big kid, needs some time. Knows what to do in the offensive zone, needs to get more comfortable in his own end.

O’Gara continues to be quietly efficient in his minutes. He handles the puck better than Staal but he’s not as physically strong as Staal. To me, he’s a 7/8 depth guy. Same goes for Claesson.

ADA to me was kone if the Rangers best players all night. The game calms down when the puck is on his stick. He is extremely fluid with the puck and reads plays very well. Quinn needs to let him play his game and tweak things slowly. His offensive IQ is the best out of any defenseman in the organization.

Hot take #2 - Buch will have a big year...might be the first Ranger to hit 60 points since I don’t remember who.
Think Zucc, Brassard and Nash were the last 3 to do it. Buch would be the first Rangers drafted player to do it for the Rangers in god knows how long

O'Gara is a great 6/7 option but I'd like to see this year's ice time spent on players who may take the next step with some patience and guidance from the coaching staff. O'Gara would be fantastic to anchor a pairing in the A.
