Prucha revisited

No, no, even SKA managers are not THAT crazy. Thoresen was "bought" from a reigning champ, where he was a 1st liner and a 2nd star after Radulov. He's a player of a very high status in Russia, much higher than Prucha. Prucha probably makes half of what you wrote. Like 1,5.

May be true, I just have a hard time beliving (still) that Thoresen has such a high star, even if I'm glad he do. But still, maybe the best line in the KHL, where they were willing to hand out more money per player in the NHL than the cap limit. I think Prucha puts hineys in seats, and thus gets payed close to the same Thoresen did on his first contract with SKA, when people still thought he only thrived under Radulovs shadow.

The thing I loved most about Prucha was the ****-eating grin that was plastered to his face every time he was on the ice. Not the best player ever, but so much fun to watch someone who was so in love with playing the game night after night. If everyone on the current roster had his heart and enthusiasm, we'd be destroying the Eastern Conference.

THIS. People may rag on him as being a flash in the pan, although I'll argue them to the death that it was Shanny, somewhat undeservingly, usurping his PP TOI that ultimately did him in).

However, coming out of that lockout after all the crap of 2004, it was so nice to see a player who loved playing in the NHL and the Rangers that much.
