I think this seems like a deal that would make sense for both teams and is good value for both given where they are in their cup life cycle.

Personally, I want the Canucks to somehow pull Grans so for that reason I dislike it! ha!

But an interesting trade idea and one of the more plausible I've seen on this site!
Just observation on my part.
That interesting trade idea did not attract any interest from Kings fans…

Well considering most fans on here only like proposals where they rip off the other team it's not surprising. The best indication of trade value being fair on these boards is when an impartial fan thinks it is. Whether the trade makes sense for either or both sides is a different story.

No, my point is that no LA fans showed any interest in trading for Provorov in general.
I am not talking about subjectivity of his value.

I'm aware of your point. I don't see the validity. Just like I don't see the validity in saying Provorov is too small when he's 6'1 200+ pounds and can play a modern day physical game especially when it comes to blocking shots.

You don't see the validity?
I believe every trade requires desire on both sides to complete it…

Ben Chiarot got a 1st in this awesome 2023 draft as a deadline acquisition. I’d rather trade Provorov as a deadline deal in a few years if we needed to. I’d trade him now if the return is that much better. Seems like the leafs want D now. The Flyers should be looking for 2 1sts to trade Provy now.

It doesn't require fan desire, or in this case one fan's desire. The fact of the matter is the Kings will need a top four LHD if they can't re-sign Gavrikov and they have been linked to having interest in Provorov as recently as this past season. Doesn't mean they will have interest this offseason and it certainly doesn't mean a trade will transpire.

However, you seem to be allowing your one opinion to dictate reality when I am simply saying there is some reason to believe it's a possibility. Just because you don't think so or hoards of LA Kings haven't flocked to this thread in the few hours it's been up to approve of it doesn't make it any less possible.

Hence why I see no validity to your comments. We can agree to disagree but I feel like you are having a hard time differentiating some things here.

They aren't getting two 1sts for Provorov. If that ends up happening Briere is a frickin wizzard.

Chiarot was -31 this year and got a 1st.

Top pair Dmen are worth a lot.

Ya i think they’re worried about their cap. And perhaps they feel (and rightly so) that defense isn’t their more pressing issue. probably more scoring and goaltending are needed more

If the Kings are going to have the space to re-sign Gavrikov they’re likely going to have to move 2-3 guys out of Arvidsson, Iafallo, Moore, Walker and Durzi. The Kings have also dealt first round picks in back to back seasons. They absolutely cannot afford to keep bleeding assets when they might need to add additional assets with Petersen to make him palatable. Of course if they recoup a bunch of assets for Arvidsson and Durzi etc then sure but that’s no guarantee. The Kings brass is also super woke and so the Pride night thing would be a big deal here and he really isn’t the type of dman the Kings are looking for. A big, D first, stay at home physical type is top priority with the rest of the d and the entire team being as soft as it is. The Kings really struggle with big physical teams.

This is under the assumption that the Kings are unable to re-sign Gavrokov in the coming weeks and they believe that he will walk in free agency.

Kings get - Ivan Provorov

Flyers get - 2024 first round pick, 2023 3rd round pick, Helge Grans
Provorov is a no topic in the liberal and multicultural L.A. market.
This proposal will never be entertained.

Not to mention that the asking price is pure fan fiction

Turcotte is bordering on bust territory I’d rather check the availability of Kaliyev or Fagemo.

Which are not for sale

I don't think Provorov at 8.5 aav returns a 1st + a 3rd + a prospect who was picked 35th overall just 3 seasons back - if that's the expectation and he is ultimately moved, Flyers fans are going to be very disappointed with the return

Kings management does.

They won't trade for him.
Seriously! The Kings team Instagram profile picture is the Kings logo but the backing is the Trans flag and LGBQ rainbow flag together. They don't even bring up Provorov name or they will be shunned by the wokeness of the organization.

For those questioning the proposed value for Provorov. A 32 year old Mattias Ekholm with two full seasons and a playoff run left on his deal with a 6.25 million avv got Nashville the following:
Tyson Barrie, Reid Schaefer, a 2023 first-round pick and a 2024 fourth-round pick.

A 2023 first and 2024 fourth is more or less similar value to a 2024 first and 2023 third. Although the 2023 first being an immediate first and in this loaded draft is the best asset among the four.

Reid Schaefer and Helge Grans is more or less a wash. I'd prefer Grans but neither is an elite slam dunk prospect.

Tyson Barrie was obviously put into the deal for cap purposes but he's a decent player and if Nashville elects to they could probably get a 2nd or 3rd for him as a pending UFA at the upcoming deadline.

Like I said, teams consistently pay up to get legit top four defenseman in trades.

Provorov (6’1 at 200 pounds) has too expensive contract (8.5 million) and do not have size Kings are looking for.
Also in LA, pride night stuff for sure decreased his value for Kings.
I believe LA will sign Gavrikov (6’4 at 220 pounds) for something around 5.5 million.

He's on $6.75 hit, that's fine.

I think the Kings would rather just pony up on Gavrikov than trade for Provorov. We just cant afford to bleed those assets after the last couple of years. We may try for another free agent dman or trade one of our 4mill wingers for one if that fails.

The trade part could make sense due to salary. The free agent crop of defenseman is pretty bad this summer which means guys will get overpaid big time. The best options are Orlov, Dumba, Gavrikov, Klingberg, Graves, and Doumoulin.

I doubt it would include Vilardi. Philly would also be way better off betting on Turcotte, younger, higher ceiling, etc
He’s much closer to busting though, plus trading vilardi opens cap space for LA too

By all reports that’s exactly what they’re doing by using Chychrun as a comp, right or wrong

We are in such a bad spot right now with where we need to be that I would trade Provy for a 1st and 2nd in this draft. Obviously a good return but I wanted better a parts of his career.

Kings already traded 2023 first and third round picks for Gavrikov.
This is second year in the row when they traded their first-round pick.
According to insiders their negotiation with Gavrikov is about to be completed soon.
There is no way LA will trade first round pick for the third time.
Philadelphia fans can only dream to get draft picks and young assets from Kings.
It is not going to happen.
