McAvoy saves empty net goal with his speed, was able to get back.

It's only one game but I am very very pleased with how he looks.

Bruins made a solid push, Subban played great. Debrusk looked real solid. Heinen was all over the place same with Czarnik.

They lose 3-2

I think I like O'Gara a lot more than Cross. I know Cross has paid his dues and has been here for so long so maybe he deserves a shot with the big club some day but O'Gara to me looks like the far better player. Reminds me a bit of how Carlo plays!

going into 3rd period p bruins down 3-2 but really pushing.

McAvoy good patience and pass on his assist, on ice for both bruins goals. Looks confident and comfortable on PP and jumping up in play. Has made alright plays in his own zone too winning puck battles and moving pucks out quick and efficiently, smart simple plays.

I'm ready for the Debrusk, McAvoy and even O'Gara hype trains. All 3 look real good to me.

Every time I watch O'Gara Im always really impressed with his game. Nothing flashy but just a real solid stay at home D, smart, uses his size in board battles n corners.

O'Gara should get a longer look in Boston next year. I see some good potential there especially with his skating and size.

I think O'Gara would of gotten a decent look this year, but carrying 8 D and having a pretty healthy D-man group this year overall, limited the chances for O'Gara to show what he could do at the NHL level.

If McQuaid or Killer get picked up in the draft O'gara is who I would expect to take that spot.

You really have it in for him, don't you? Because he reminds you of Eriksson?

The Eriksson comparison looked very appropriate tonight. I think that Heinen is a little better passer and skater, but not the shooter that Loui is. The hockey IQ, overall game, and ability to play on the boards and in front despite not being a physical player all appear to be common traits.

I pretty tired (and watching the B's game) right now, so I probably won't do a recap tonight, but from the team I watched tonight, the four players I think can be NHL players:

McAvoy
O'Gara
DeBrusk
Heinen

Wasn't much of a fan of Eriksson personally, but I think for myself and some others around here, it would have been a much different feeling if it weren't for who we traded for him and then what became almost an obligation to play him on the first line. If Heinen can develop into a lesser Eriksson and we have the ability to play him on the third line, I think we could all be happy as that's real solid value for a 4th rounder.

I agree with your list GD. I had hopes for Czarnik developing into a more aggressive, defensively-responsible Spooner, but I'm not seeing that progression. Maybe over time Fitzgerald could develop into that role instead, but the rest all feel like tweeners at best.

In Moltisanti's defense, I think he posted that just after Heinen had missed the net from a golden position in front of the net. Overall he was decent though.

I thought it was odd that he would pick out Heinen who was one of the few players that generated anything in the first 10 minutes of the game, when you had Mueller skating on the 1st line and he was absolutely atrocious for the entire game.

I didn't see it, but I assume Cehlarik must be hurt? Mueller was an anchor that Czarnik and DeBrusk were forced to carry all evening.

Very surprised to see Subban was in the line up. Is McIntyre injured or perhaps, as Colt suggested yesterday, he was recalled for the Bruins trip to Chicago?

Great to get some game insight from the posters who had a feed to watch it live. (How about that creepy cameraman? Hope the younger viewers were in bed.)
Even better were the comments on how McAvoy performed. Seems there were no jitters running though his body. A glimpse of what's to come. The loss is but a footnote in this one.

Because McIntyre is almost certainly playing this afternoon and Subban's injury had subsided and Vladar was the starter anyway it all made sense. Unfortunately Vladar got lifted.

first two goals (on 5 shots I believe) were awful. His D didn`t help him a ton on the 2nd but it was a puck he should have had

I think he is going to get a real long look next year at camp. Even if he ends up the 6th/7th D-man. He showed the ability to play both sides during his brief stint last October. I was very impressed with his overall game in pre-season, he wasn't far off what Carlo displayed in terms of performance.

last night was the first time I`ve watched him play other than the few games he had with the B`s early in the year, can really see the improvement to his game. Appears to be a kid who is NOT a fan of opponents standing in front of his net either

I felt DeBrusk and Heinen were by far the most active forwards out there, Heinen does nothing flashy but does most things very well and the puck just seems to follow DeBrusk around

yea I watched O'Gara closely and so many times he'd completely shut down rushes and move the puck the other way. Made it look easy against quite a few guys using his size.

Again nothing flashy and the plays themselves dont stand out but he seems to also have a real great active stick. His reach also wiped out plays in the corners and along the boards.

He looked like one of the best D out there, much better than Grant and also Cross I think struggled at times. Casto has looked bad the majority of the games I end up catching.

Overall I like what I see...he got real physical in the 3rd behind the net just pushing guys off the puck.

Debrusk and Heinen were flying all over the place, same with Czarnik but just seemed like he was flying around more like a chicken with his head cut off than skating with a purpose...going in every direction, forcing plays and maybe trying to do a little too much.

Was happy with the few rushes Blidh had too.

Aside from a sequence where he lost his guy and was screening McIntyre, McAvoy looks like he's been at this level all season.
