Jakub Stancl, Aleksanteri Kaskimaki and Tomas Mrsic

For the non Blues fans: Stancl and Kaskimaki definitely look like they have an NHL-future, something not a lot of us expected at the start of this season. Both have middle-six upside but also have the tools to play on the bottom 6. Mrsic improved a lot too, however he still doesn't scream future NHL-player to me. I guess there is a chance he can grow into a sheltered 3rd line winger with heavy powerplay usage, however, if he does it's probably not with the Blues as he has quite a few guys ahead of him on the depth chart. He's a lot of fun to watch though.

Simon Robertsson is another guy who's quietly making a name for himself in the AHL and looks like a potential future bottom-6 winger. Think a lot of us already had written him off.

The Penguins won’t have any prospects playing outstanding but I wanted to include the Pens int this thread.

The cupboards are pretty bare though.
Pool is deep IMO. Pens should get some solid depth players out of Koivunen, Pickering, Ponomarev, McGroarty, Broz, Pieniniemi, Howe, Brunicke, Ilyin. Some of the longer shots like Lucius, Vaisanen, Plante, Pietila, Harding, and A. Hayes all look like they’re on a path to have a chance to get contracts and play in the AHL too (Hayes already is). That doesn’t even mention the goalies.

Feel like it’s safe to say at worst they’ll get 3 regulars and a backup goalie out of the current crop. That’s pretty good IMO. Obviously needs top end talent and as a result I’d still call it an average to below average farm system. But I’d argue there’s serious depth/quantity currently. Just not little waterbug guys who lit up CHL leagues with counting numbers - so little fanfare.

Emmitt Finnie, 7th rounder from 2023, on pace for 100+ points in the WHL this season. Higher PPG than Tij Iginla, Riley Heidt, Brayden Yager etc.
Kid's got good size and skating and has been impressive at all rookie/prospect camps for the Wings so there might actually be something there.

Pridham is committed to Boston University. When the NCAA eligibility rules changed he left the BCHL for the OHL where he quickly established himself as a top scoring forwards on the Rangers and is at a PPG pace (52 pts in 49 games) since his arrival in mid November.

AJ Spellacy is a defensive energy type forward who had strong showing at Blackhawks camp and almost made the US world jr team. From all reports he has had an impressive season
I really like Pridham. Stats are not showing everything in his case. I can see him a futur bottom 6 players in the NHL.
