It's official - JR and Allvin are marginally better than Benning and Linden. At best.
They just can't stay out of the f***ing media and we're going to get massively ripped off because of it.
JR is willingly relinquishing the control of the interpretation in order to get his quotes through. And lest we forget, who is the one crafting the article and headline? Gary Mason: Known Aquilini confidant. The same reporter that tweeted Miller may not move by the TDL before this article came out... Coincidence?
This is all "part of the plan".
JR bids for time, implying that they could keep Miller for their own run rather than bolster someone else's run, knowing it can't possibly lower potential returns -- Because all the teams/insiders already know this. His admission is largely irrelevant.
Last: It's not an indefinite timeline. By stating it's still an issue to be addressed, he's relaying something will happen. It just doesn't need to happen at a time most optimal for the buying team. i.e. in the offseason.
Listening to the Whiteboard right now, Drance immediately picks up on this. He gets it. (Have a listen)

Again, I hope you're right that this is some sort of 4D chess move, and Rutherford obviously has much better insight on the situation than some dweeb on the internet (ie me) so it's reasonable to give some deference to him.
I agree that the messaging from the interview had to be "we'll trade Miller if the price is right and keep him if not" and if that was what he said, I don't think he'd be getting roasted on here. The problem is that the message that came across was "we can't fix this internally". To me this means the Canucks will eventually be forced into a trade, and the leverage in their current position can simply be waited out. I just don't see how this is preferable to just not saying anything at all.
If the problem was all because of Miller, almost certainly they would be looking only to trade Miller. Both are being shopped.the thing that bothers me with "these are two adults, why can't they got along!" when it's almost certainty one asshole being an asshole to a normal guy whose only issue is he constantly has to endure with the asshole being an asshole to them.
Cozens & Byram assist on Tage goal ..

yeah i don't buy it. toxic assholes thrive this way all the time.If the problem was all because of Miller, almost certainly they would be looking only to trade Miller. Both are being shopped.
What I've read from a couple of people here over the past three years or so, who have connections to alumni or people within the organization, is that the problem is not entirely Miller's fault and that Pettersson hasn't been particularly popular among his teammates. There was also Brad Richardson's comment a few weeks ago that he had told Miller that he was too hard on Pettersson but also that Miller was "saying exactly what I think."
We just missed their peak. Don't make the deal.Cozens & Byram assist on Tage goal ..
Yes, and so do passive-aggressives.yeah i don't buy it. toxic assholes thrive this way all the time.
While this is a possibility, one has to believe that the organization, with significant input from Hughes, would then target the one bad apple. It doesn't appear to have played out this way. A good guess is that Miller's personality is pretty aggressive and that doesn't sit well with some. But, if EP didn't contribute to the bad situation, why in the world would they even consider trading him.the thing that bothers me with "these are two adults, why can't they got along!" when it's almost certainty one asshole being an asshole to a normal guy whose only issue is he constantly has to endure with the asshole being an asshole to them.
People really forget how apocalyptically terrible Benning and Linden were. This is just noise, it's annoying. What's going on is an implosion of a core Benning built, whoever took over from Benning would have to deal with all the same shit.
notice you didn't protest that miller was 'asshole' tho.Pettersson and "normal guy" don't belong in the same sentence.

I want cozens & byram/power (+/-) sofa king bad and this deal makes way way too much sense for both teams. Before this goal, Dylan Cozens had more 5v5 points than any Canucks forward. He still does but now it's even more.
The thing about the "weirdo" label is almost always applied by the asshole when they get push back from their bullshit. No, he is clearly an asshole and Pettersson is clearly a weirdo.

was tampa and the rangers full of weirdos and that's why they traded him? hmm. There are plenty of "normal" guys on the team who don't seem to have an issue with either Miller or Pettersson, and are just playing hockey.
