It was a razor thin margin for me but that was ultimately the reasoning I used to put ASP first and Cossa second. Cossa has looked great no doubt, but ASP is distinguishing himself from his comparable competition more than Cossa is IMO, though it's marginal. I think those have to be the top 2 at this point, but you can make a completely justifiable argument in favour of either of them. What gives ASP the edge for me is that he's doing some historically special things production-wise at the moment, while Cossa is 'just' very talented and solid. I think if a prospect is matching or exceeding the same-level production of an all-time great like Karlsson, he has to be the #1 prospect.

Danielson and Kasper have looked good, especially the latter with how he's looked in the NHL, but neither of them are head and shoulders above the vast majority of their peers like ASP and Cossa are. MBN just hasn't shown enough at this point, though that's not his fault since he hasn't really had the opportunity to do so yet.

Yeah I like ASP’s upside more than any forward we have at the moment. That’s why I had him at #2. I just think that is somewhat capped because I think he will likely be an offensive specialist as an NHL player (see Ghost, Hronek, etc.). Would love for his game to continue to grow and be wrong on that though.

Cossa has all the tools you would need to be elite at his position.

Great points. These were basically the arguments in my head in trying to decide who to rank first between those two. I went with Cossa by the slimmest of margins after leaning more towards projection than current level of play, but I don't blame any of you who went with ASP.

Not immediate, but would hope they have even remote star potential. I don't see any of them being "superstars", immediate or not.
Then you might as well pick a different sport. Edvinsson has superstar flashing over his head in neon just about every game he's played. Not every shift, but if you can't see he's special then... you wouldn't know if you saw it anyway.

He I would be even better if he didn't waste one year in AHL. Glad Yzerman understand that and bring earlier Kasper

Sorry just saw your reply. Not quite sure how you could watch the game against EDM and see so much missed coverage, including on the game winning goal, and think “superstar”

so about Buchelnikov....

how high has he climbed? In terms of ceiling, you could make a case he's our 2nd or 3rd best prospect..

Lombardi & Kiiskinen are also climbing

hes definetly climbed

Quick redo at this point for me

1 pellikka
2 cossa
3 buchelnikov
4 danielson
5 finnie
6 nygaard
7 augustine
8 Lombardi
9 mazur
10 kiiskinen

Next is a toss up between wallinder/buium

I know everyone will have nygaard ahead of finnie and think I'm nuts and probably am but I'm more excited with finnie cause of what he did on an awful team by far last season ending #1 in scoring and this years hes taken off and just beat his total goals in half the games and top 10 in scoring in the league

Didnt check whl standings but I'd guess kamloops are bad since the other guys on the team have meh stats and I'd expect him to get traded at some point

with #10 sometimes I got wallinder ahead of buium and vice versa

Hopefully we add a top prospect this draft

On 2nd thought I'd place kiiskinen at 10 over wallinder/buium even though I think both will make the nhl. Think kiiskinen has a chance at being an important piece we need

Always forget about him cause he was drafted by the preds
