What I've been seeing all season has little to do with an injury. Watch him without the puck next game we play(you might already do this) and you will see what I am referring to. He has no idea what to do defensively, almost Drouin-like. He flies the zone too early and loses his man in defensive coverage. I wouldn't have predicted that Slaf would be a better compliment to Suzuki but he is becoming just that. Caufield reminds me of Kessell and Mike Hoffman in his Ottawa days, an offensive threat only and with that said, not every player needs to be in the running for the Selke. Still, there are defensive responsibilities when playing on the first line and he is lacking.I wonder if he's playing through some kind of injury... Uncharacteristically mediocre of late.
