Caufield was really bad tonight. He got an assist but his play without the puck was brutal, he left his man on multiple occasions in the third period alone, and he is a very weak link defensively on his line with Slaf and Suzuki.

I wonder if he's playing through some kind of injury... Uncharacteristically mediocre of late.

His second half has been really encouraging.

But... and this applies to Monty as well, what separates a high end goalie from the rest is whether they can play well for 30, 40, or 50+ games.
Not saying he’ll be high end, confidence is also needed for goalies. Harder to determine how he’ll end up but he looks pretty solid and he’s just 24.

Once again RDS hating the system in our own end.
It's exactly what I said when MSL first brought it up.
We do not have the players either smart enough or mobile enough to play that system.

It's ugly it's very very ugly.

Damn, all you're missing is that his Mom dresses him funny. ;)

Seriously though, I have noticed a lot of the same issues with his play without the puck recently. His play before this seemed to be improving. So hopefully this is just a blip.
