Value of: Price Of The Brock Going Up

friedman last night said jets were very interested in nelson
lebrun last night said he thinks chevy will do anything he can to get nelson
Anything you say, that means Lou should play it right and package a Swedish forward signed until next decade with Brock. Unfortunately that won’t happen though.

I could believe we're targeting Nelson. He's everything our scouts like. Old, fast, and expiring.
Cute post but while Nelson is older, he's not slow by any means. But Lou will overplay his hand and ask the moon for a guy that will go to free agency this summer. Unless there is a sign & trade (2-3 year extension at max) I see no sense it getting into a twist over Nelson. Not even a Half Nelson if he doesn't resign with his new team at the deadline. Pricey rental. Like you don't have the money for a new or used car but you rent a Mercedes for the weekend. Or a dependable Chevy.

if nelson doesn't get traded tomorrow then i am done with this team until lou is gone. I hope many other isles fans see it the same way, enough to make a financial difference.

This was true once upon a time; now with social media being rampant, Lou cant keep things on lock nearly as well

Not unless he makes every decision by himself
Social media is merely a means of communicating info. If Lou calls another GM and it's just them talking, and if he tells them if anything gets out they're out of the running, I don't think we'd know anything.

Or, to put it another way, was social media invented after the Rantanen deal?

The point is Lou isnt able to keep other GMs from talking anymore; and if thats how he still operates it explains the lack of skill on the Island

Social media is a construct to score extra value now; no, I do not believe young GMs hear Lou and then never tell anyone. The old boys club is mostly gone

Yet here we are less than 24 hours before the deadline, Lou has the guy ranked at the top of most TDL lists, and all we are seeing is conflicting information and guesses.

While some of the above may be true, most business negotiations center around details not getting out before there's signatures or signoff.

You're more likely to avoid deals with a GM who obviously lets everyone and their mother know about a proposed deal.

Id agree but the issue is its impossible to know who leaks what nowadays

Back when if Lou had details get out hed drop the deal; simply because we knew it wasnt Nj that did so

Nowadays with everyone having the world in their pocket, it could be the freaking janitor overhearing things lol
