Value of: Price Of The Brock Going Up

Nelson is on track to be a 30 goal scoring center 4 years in a row playing for a pop gun offense that has proven to show up in the post season
If on the market he will command some assets like the Horvats of the world commanded.

Nelson for Tkachuk, Stutzle and Sanderson.

Brock's THAT good.

He's got intangibles up the yin-yang

And he can hang with Snoop til the third blunt's finished and the munchies are brought out!

I don't know how this is going to turn out, but imo Nelson would make the biggest difference with the Avs. When I watch them it looks like they slide around Lehkonen as an extra finisher where they need it. Obviously, Nelson can finish.

seravalli on DFO said wild are unlikely to make a big move at the deadline today, dreger has mentioned the jets being interested in nelson 3 different times today
Music to my ears. I wouldn't mind Nelson on the team, but not at the cost of what it would take to get him in a 1st round exit, throwaway season.

Sign him over the summer if they want him.

They would be able to put Brock as the 2C and move down HF trade rumor legend Casey “the answer” Mittelstadt to 3C.

Great player. The bidding will be high. The return will be impressive and (to some fans) shocking. Does Jersey need Nemec?

Frankly, they could use both Nelson and Palmieri. That'd make a good 2nd line for them with Drouin. but then I would expect Mittelstadt to have to be part of the deal. And I guess that would make some sense, even if I'm ambivalent about it. I don't think Casey has tunred out to be a great fit in COL, and NYI will also need players next year, lol.

Horvat/Mittelstad/Pageau/MacLean is one interesting fall off a cliff then try to climb out of a hole center group. NYI needs centers who can play center and not just pull an Engvall and waste space. Remember, Lou gave them Devon Toews for 2 seconds and that’s enough favors for the I’m too high city.

I know it's unlikely but if the Islanders could find a third team, I would love a deal that see Brock and Palmieri go wherever Ottawa sends us Pinto and Ottawa then gets what we would have for the 2 guys

I'm ambivalent, as I said, and for me it would cost the Avs considerably more than him.

But imo the Avs 2nd line is a bunch of parts that don't fit together, and that's not all Mittelstadt's fault.

At any rate, my thoughts about Palmieri were entirely Nichushkin insurance related. Palmieri might not always score goals, but you can be pretty sure he's not going to show up to games smelling like an ouzo distillery. And he can play on a third line just as well as plays on the 2nd.

I was a fan of Nelson 10 years ago, but expecting a 1st+ for an aging .75 PPG Center on the wrong side of 30 is laughable.
"An aging .75 ppg center on the wrong side of 30" doesn't matter diddly squat when it's only about the next 3-4 months.
A top six center like Nelson go for a 1st + at the deadline routinely. Especially this year, with plenty of teams looking for a top six center, but thus far few sellers.
Nothing laughable about it.

I thought he was outstanding last night. If he played his last game as an Islander, he played it as good as it gets.

I'm sure he impressed the Jets scouts in the building.

I wonder if the 1st + Chibrikov for Nelson + Engvall would make a deal.
