I just thread banned them all.
What a f***ing hero.

They are humans. You can’t asked them to play like it’s a game 7 playoffs game every night.

They’ve learned how to win and they how how hard it is to make long runs in the playoffs.

Last playoffs, they were way more less physical than the year before. Why? Because they’ve learned that playing physical like they did in 2023 wasn’t sustainable to win a cup.

What you call lack of motivation, I call it energy management. If they can make the playoffs while playing at 80% of their capacity, they sure will. Not all teams have this luxury, but they do.
exactly. Everyone panicked in March and this team came out flying in the playoffs. I have 0 worry at all. It’s more just annoying to lose to the Devils because their fans are all booger eating morons.

Their best games have been against actual rivals like Boston, NYR and Tampa. Or against Dallas where they had extra motivation for obvious reasons.

I think it just shows that they are able to turn the switch on when needed. Only very teams can do that, and the Panthers are one of them IMO. Reminds me Tampa or Pittsburgh in their great years. No matter what, you knew these teams would be ready when it really counts.

Yup, that's what it is. Like others have said, they know what a hard road it's gonna be to climb to the top of the hill again. They're just conserving energy periodically, because they have to. Teams like the Devils are different. They can go all out all season. I think Maurice understands this and is on board with this. But he's not gonna say it to the media. Iirc Cooper did the same denial thing when Tampa was in the middle of it's long runs.

These guys are gonna get their nuts stomped in by the Jets tonight if they don't play better than they have since Nashville (lit up awful backup goaltender), Philly (beat worst team in the league in the shootout after heroic performance by Bob), and NJ (lost twice)

Jesper SHOULD NOT BE ON THE 2nd line.

It’s simple -

I don't agree with that at all. That's more likely to work in a different sport like basketball. That's were teams are so uneven. Some teams can load manage. Hockey is not like that.
I understand they're human. This is not asking them to be perfect. But there's a task that needs to be accomplished. And there are certain things you have to do to accomplish it. It doesn't change, even if you have won it before. I wasn't thinking about them being physical as to lack of motivation. Or putting out the same physical energy.
I was mostly talking about them being engaged mentally. Being focused. You have to stay focused they way they were the first time winning it. Now, they need to find a different way to stay focused. But it requires the same focus. Playing at the level they were at to win the cup, is not something you can turn off and on. They can't take that for granted.
This is part of the test to try to repeat. It doesn't happen that often for a reason. All teams have a test every season, this is part of the Panthers test this season.

I disagree. Tampa turned it off and on for 3 years and got 2 Cups and 3 straight Finals out of it. It was a known thing. The Panthers did it too last season. A lot of people were freaking out in February and March. Then the Panthers cranked it up the last couple weeks of the season and the playoffs. They knew they had to if they wanted to make 2' straight Finals. I knew what they were doing. This league is so hard now, so competitive and you have to play 100+games to win the Cup. There's no way they can't energy conserve this season if they want to repeat.
