Anderson is certainly a change of pace from the more frenetic styles from the past couple of years.

He’s certainly the biggest goalie we’ve had in some time.

I remember being upset when we drafted him all those years ago. He was even heavier at the time. Was wondering what we were thinking drafting some fat Dane

He still looks huge in the net like Vasilevskiy but without having to wear the Michelin Man suit that Vasi does

I thought Keane looked decent tonight. More confident defensively, pinching and skating with the puck than the other non-NHL defensemen. If he keeps that up, I suspect he'll get a call-up with injuries.

Cole makes Edmundson look fast.

KK was good.

I liked a lot of what the bottom 3 lines brought. Its 1 game but I didn’t see much difference in Stepan and Drury or Suzuki.

I was a bit torn on KK. He looked really good in situations where they were cycling and there was some open space (like the PP or a few other times 5v5). He used his stick well to disrupt things defensively and in the neutral zone and he was able to slow things down at the right time to make some nice passes up the ice as well.

I think he struggled a bit along the boards and maintaining control of the puck in any sort of traffic. As I mentioned before, his skating is awkward and he's not overly agile which may contribute to that.

It's one game, on a new team, with a new coach, a new system, and a new position though so won't read much into positives or negatives at this point.

Just came back from the game. Overall, it was a pretty stellar effort from everyone, but I think that out of all of the new guys, Kotkaniemi, Andersen, DeAngelo, and Drury impressed me the most. If DeAngelo and Jepu, along with our usual guys, can keep our PP looking as good as it did under Dougie, I will be a lot less worried about the FO's decision to let Dougie get $9M/year from New Jersey. TDA certainly looks like he has the vision and passing prowess to pull it off, even if he lacks the dangerous point shot. I also thought that even though they're both on the slow side, that Cole and Stepan showed to be good defensive stabilizers for flashier players today. Stepan, in particular, was a beast in the faceoff dot today, which is what our 4th line needed last year but didn't quite get from that Lorentz/Marty/Paquette revolving door.

Rees was very noticeable in a good way for the game, he doesn't have a spot yet, but he could push Leivo or someone out.

Leivo is likely a 12th/13th forward, so I'd rather Rees get more playing time in all situations at a lower level than be at 12th/13th forward right now. Injuries could change that.
