I find PLD and his situation to be kind of interesting.Funny thing is I'm the complete opposite. If there are highlights, lowlights, or memes, I'll look like he's any other player. But I still care more about how Vilardi, Kupari, and Iafallo are doing more than he.
But I also reject the idea of telling a fanbase to "get over it" when I doubt the fervor behind the sentiment isn't related to the team he's playing for now.
Just trolling a team's board and telling them to get over any player is just shitty, especially when you have a personal stake in that player.
My impression is that Luc is on the hot seat. I believe AEG will makes changes soon if things don't change.
You're right totally forgot about KCAL. Do the Kings have any games on KCAL this year?KCOP (13) is the Ducks, KCAL (9) is the Kings, Cable BSW is mostly LA's , BSSW is mostly Anaheim's , sometimes they cross over depending scheduling conflicts.
Blake and Co. take most of my ire for the PLD fiasco, but I still want him to fail miserably in Washington (and wherever he ends up after that). Yeah, I'm bitter. I don't hate Washington at all (hey, they kept Vegas from getting a Cup that first season), but I can't wish the guy well after how he "played" here.

What about the 2024-2025 season? The LA Kings are coming back to KCAL for the 2023-24 season:

Plenty of Blake-defenders in our own fanbase were calm-downing us about PLD (I still remember the “b-but he’s a PLAYOFF PERFORMER” takes). It’s bizarre to see it now coming from the outside. That's also quite literally possibly the only poster ever to tell us to just get over PLD.
Almost every other fanbase in the NHL--like us--saw that disaster coming and expressed justifiable sympathy.
So as much as I ended up actually liking PLD the human and hating PLD the player, I'll be actively rooting against him just for the schaudenfraude of the stupid f***ing smugness over a god damn preseason 5-on-3 goal blowing up right in his face.
"LA Misused him, Washington is actually geniuses" is some bullshit lol, as if they weren't the least-deserving playoff team (-37!) last year on their way to getting swept and went out and got PLD to cure that.
Edit: haha jesus christ it's even funnier than that, their GDT literally reads exactly like ours as it pertains to PLD. "didn't even notice him" "he coasts a lot of shifts" verbatim. I take back what I said about December...see you in November for your apology tour
Hmmm looks like there will be no games on KCAL this season unless I'm missing something. The LA Kings are coming back to KCAL for the 2023-24 season:

hearing that blake got suited up, went onto the ice and had a 1 on 1 talk with PLD to show him how to 'battle' was the cherry on the shit-pie. its so embarrassing that he thought it would change anything about PLD's game.....did they not do ANY scouting beforehand?!?! regardless of how excited i am for this season, Blake better be kicked the f*** out come JulyPLD is gold plated proof that Blake isn’t a good enough GM to build a winner. But some sycophants can look at the results and argue that he isn’t actively damaging the franchise. Some Kings fans love to live on their knees. It’s truly sad that the highest levels of the third highest revenue franchise believe we inhabit hockey Siberia.
31G on a good contract would make you think that its ridiculous to trade him.. but his value would never be higher, and Thomas is more of what you'd want from a 3rd liner. Id be down. But this org never maximizes anything esp contract value.Trade Moore
All of the above. I believe in all of the above is happening or all happen to a degree. The aggressive approach and abandoning 1-3-1 is good on Hiller. TMAC could say most of the right things and have experience....but as far as implementing change, making the right calls, making the right combos, having game strategy changes, out coaching any coach...he failed. Hiller may not seem like he's an elite type coach and can even lack in some areas, but I like his approach and ability to change...and ability to inspire.A LOT of things we have been waiting for are happening. Sure, some of it is via circumstance. But they are more aggressive and more physical. The young RHDs will be getting top 4 minutes for months.
IF Turcotte is healthy and breaks out...
IF Jeannot really can produce in a less open style...
IF Kuemper isn't cooked...
IF Thomas can be that indispensable jack of all trades...
IF Byfield can take the next step towards dominance...
IF a renewed, aggressive approach becomes real...
There are lots of reasons to be MUCH more interested in the Kings this year. More stories to follow, all with progress as the destination.
The Boston game shows up on ESPN+ as a "National Broadcast." I'm not sure which channel that is supposed to be, though. Maybe a Canadian national broadcast? It looks like no TV for the Boston game and the Florida game is on KCAL9

It could be, though usually ESPN+ will say "Bruins Broadcast" if it were the local broadcast (similar to the Leafs-Wings game above the Kings-Bruins game in the screenshot).Or NESN is broadcasting it to Boston

I don't think it will happen during the regular season. He might get one season after this IMO.Soon?
Nothing is happening until the outcome of the season is hanging in the balance.
The soonest that would be is during a major slump threatening the Kings making the playoffs.
I can't remember the last time management was fired during a season. Taylor and Lombardi were both fired in the offseasonI don't think it will happen during the regular season. He might get one season after this IMO.
Beckerman wants post season success.
