I think most of us would agree that Cuylle has earned a cup of coffee to start the season at the very least

I know it's not always a meritocracy, especially since the veterans are all just out there floating, but you'd like to see his effort rewarded.
His production in the AHL last season combined with his camp, he's completely earned a spot.

Cuylle and Othmann both earned the opportunity to start the season with the Rangers.

Lafreniere and Goodrow did nothing to make the team outside of having recognizable names. There's two spots right there.

Too much doom and gloom. Preseason means nothing. We went to the ECF 2 years ago.We added some cheap depth. Our young guys are better. Shesty will bounce back from a bit of an off year. Many of you think we improved our coaching . I think we'll be all right. IF we're not , please no more calls for firing the coach. Drury will have to go (and some players with him).

Is Laf healthy scratched again like last night or are they waiting till game 5 of the regular season for that?

He better show something— anything at this point. Like maybe start with a shot on goal!

I was just sitting here thinking 'how tf is there no line up yet' only to realize it's barely 12:30....

On the goalie issue Garand is probably a bit more ready this year than he was last year. It's also possible that Domingue would be a better option than Quick. He does have a career .905 save % in 142 NHL games. It's not great but I'm ready for Quick not working out.

As of now I'm also leaning towards the Trouba/Miller, Fox/Lindgren pairings which would put Schneider and Gustafsson together.

IMO at least one of Cuylle/Othmann should make the team and I'd consider that player for the 3rd line. They are arguably the two brightest spots in our preseason games so far. Bonino so far I'm not seeing. Yeah him and Quick are both from Connecticut and like Drury both grew up as Rangers fans and they've both have won Cups but age sooner or later becomes a factor for everyone and these two have a million miles of NHL wear and tear behind them.

Quick doesn't look comfortable. We used to know right away when Hank didn't feel comfortable. When he was beaten on the would-be third goal, he was saved by the right post, but he was far from set for the jam play. Then on NJ's third goal, the PP tally, he was leaning the wrong way when he got beat far side top shelf. He is slow getting from post to post. He looks toast to me. I'm more comfortable with Domingue.

I expect a good performance tonight.

Jekyll and Hyde performances for most of the season.
