I think he looks WAY better than he did that year he and Legare were up. He's lost his d-positioning quite a bit. I think he's close to a stretch of games, but not there yet. Guys like DOC, Poehling, etc. would better fit when the time comes.

Fair enough, no particular argument there. I wouldn't be saying he's NHL ready from this either, but he's flashed a lot of good things and I'm not sure he isn't. I'd agree Poehling should be the next guy in at C. Poulin vs DOC at C? Hmm.



Anyway

a) nice goal
b) I like PP1 more when they just treat it like 5v5 and go for space rather than treating it like a PP
c) That sucks, that net getting dislodged/the whistle wouldn't have stopped it from being a goal. Correct call, but it sucks.

Pre-season scores don't matter so the game is 4-0 as far as I'm concerned.

Rakell is getting a lot of chances, he just needs to score on them. If he keeps firing shots like that, he'll get goals.

GCRa doesn't look as snappy as last season, but I think it's working and it sucks they didn't get the goal to reward them

Geno thinks he still has his galloping legs and I hope he'll be right in a few games. Line isn't getting a huge amount done as a result, and I think Rust and Zucker look lively enough I'm not putting it on them.

I cautiously think I like Poehling. Kappy is being Kappy, Heinen is being Heinen.

Archibald is growing on me. Poulin... well, won't get ahead of myself. McGinn is McGinn.

Tanger looks smooth. I'm trying to zero in on Dumo but struggling to see him looking very good or very bad.

Petry has at times looked very good and very bad. But the very bad hasn't been much in his zone.

I like Rutta.

Also DeSmith's game might be getting forgot but it shouldn't. Right now he's probably the most impactful guy on the ice.

Zucker will be fine, as quite a few here said all along, his only issue is health and if he has that he is a useful player to this team

As far as Geno looking fast, well no shit, he is still one of the better players in the game today. His issue was also health an a full offseason of it. People talking about moving on from him really have no clue
