I hope they send a bunch of popular Gulls guys for this game (Carrick brothers, Terry, De Leo, Dostal, Perreault, Groulx, etc.).

Tomorrow might be a big camp reduction day. Can we just leave Gawdin, Agozzino, Regenda, Pasta, Caufield, McLaughlin and King in San Diego after the game?

I think both posts are spot on for pre-season game #4. With four more pre-season games left after tonight, it seems logical to cull down the roster and start prepping for opening night chemistry.

Tonight is going to be a big night for Groulx. Can he standout amongst the other AHL centers to earn a 4C spot with the NHL club?

The more interesting storylines are seeing how our blueline can make our forwards look better. Will LaCombe continue his consistently efficient play? A Hinds-Luneau duo sounds good defensively and offensively. RD Helleson needs to show up b/c RD Drysdale may hold out for quite some time and it's possible that Vaaks might be his partner with the Ducks. It's a good test for our talented blue line prospects as it might be a preview of what the Gulls will have this season and/or next (Luneau can't play in the AHL this season b/c he won't turn age 20 until after Dec 31st).

I’m really looking forward to the Groulx love to be over. He’s absolutely useless

I don't know why you're elevating a 4C into the same level of interest as a top-6 forward like a Carlsson.

Anaheim needs to develop bottom-6 as players age out/we move on from them such as Grant and eventually Silf and Sam Carrick. Lundy might be on the bubble with Gaucher heading into the AHL this season. Bottom-6 players aren't flashy and are more known for their defense along with tertiary scoring.

Seeing how our center position is taking a major hit at center right now due to injuries and contract situations, players like C Groulx matter for depth purposes as well as a threshold for C Gaucher, allowing Gaucher to develop in the AHL than rushing prospects not ready for the NHL.

I'm pulling for Groulx because I want Anaheim to succeed.

I hope he succeeds too, but at this point in time he seems to be what he is. And we have other players that can better fill in the bottom 6. But yes, you’re right that maybe somehow things will change for him this season.

I'm pretty sure it only exists in your head.
This statement will be true if he actually plays for the ducks for more than a handful of games this season. True

I'm wondering if Lundy can play on the wing instead, if he may be a better fit playing defense a little higher up in the defensive zone and using his speed in transition. I don't think he's priced himself out of Anaheim and could be a useful player. We won't be competing next year, so they can experiment with him on different lines to see if anything clicks and move him/let him go if he gets passed by other kids.

We did experiment with Lundy playing wing and he adds the element of speed, but the necessity at center mattered more when injuries hit during COVID season, iirc. Lundy solidified his hold for being a center and has been a staple there since.

When comparing Lundy and Gaucher, Gaucher looks slower. If we keep Lundy, then I prefer we keep him at center and put Gaucher on the wings.

As for keeping Lundy, it isn't about price. I thought Milano did well enough to be retain, but we didn't. Similarly, I thought RD Andersson was showing enough promise despite being made out of glass to warrant a bridge deal after his ELC ended, but we didn't. Both players would come cheap to retain. PV hasn't seen a fully healthy Lundy. Lundy started off hot with Silf at the start of the 2021-22 season, then Silf got injured and a blood clot. PV came in at the all-star break. Last year, Lundy started off with an injury that seemed like nagged him all season.

I always find it weird when teams dress an AHL roster for an unconventional city.

Isn't the point of these games to expand your brand to a new market? why put out such a booty cheese lineup?

Putting a AHL line up in front of Gibson? No way he plays the entire game.

Is it just audio stream tonight?

According the tweet... err... X-talk (cross talk ?), the Ducks' website and app will be showing the game.
