So who is the wonder teen franchise savior we're tanking for?
Well he’s practically a Jack Hughes clone. He’s even got a similar name, James Hagens

His game is much more suited to it. Casey’s that cowboy type QB that has incredible lateral movement and opens up passing lanes. Dougie’s better suited as a shooting threat than running things up top.
UhThere is no better option
Hamilton after surgery and missing most of last season we have to expect it will take time for him to find his game again at the highest level. It’s not reasonable to expect otherwise and you could see in the third period tonight how gassed and rusty he was - and at the end of the second period when we gave up that goal - that his reactions and strength are not back where they need to be.Hamilton is so unique lol. I'd say Luke, Nemec and Casey all look better because of their mobility, but Dougie has that bomb lol.
Excellent points, the duo that has a history of playing fantastic together must be separated because of a random preseason game.Is that so? Where was Tatar in the playoffs again, whos line?
The regular season was under a different coach with a different system that nobody in the league had seen before that season
Or are you suggesting the Devils will go another 30-game stretch with 40+ shots for and only sub-20 against
I can point to a thousand examples in sports of one-season of greatness from a tandem of players that never replicated
Tomas Tatar is a third liner who has not been trusted by any team in the playoffs since his sophomore season - hes not good
Casey’s emergence is going to finally allow NJ to trade Nemec to MTL for AndersonIf Pesce is going to miss games, I feel like you got to let Casey get some looks and send him down when Pesce is ready to go
I said that when he got here (Dougie)
So, when Pesce and Luke are included, which of Luke, Nemec, or Casey gets sent down since they will be the only 3 not having to clear waivers? If you’re preaching handing out roster spots based on merit there’s literally no argument against Casey. Best player on the team both games he played.

Hamilton
Dillon
Siegenthaler
Pesce
Luke
Nemec
Kovacevic
Casey
Carrying 8 D and 13 F would be outright ridiculous having to sit one of those kids when they need to play every night. Kovacevic was acquired to fill that backup role.
I see Casey to Utica as the 1st RHD to get a call.
If Casey proves he's better than Nemec, he should make the team ahead of Nemec. From what we've seen so far, Nemec could use some AHL seasoning over Casey. So, when Pesce and Luke are included, which of Luke, Nemec, or Casey gets sent down since they will be the only 3 not having to clear waivers?

We all love Casey, but selling Nemec short isn’t necessary to prop up Casey. Nemec just played a stellar 60 games as a 19 year old rookie in the NHL. He was also scoring over 0.5 PPG playing pro hockey while Casey was in college. Based off what we’ve seen so far, aka one preseason game from Simon after being back from injury. Seems a bit disingenuous. I’m not trying to bring Casey down, he’s awesome and I’m excited about him as a prospect. He will most likely make the team, but I highly doubt it’ll be because Nemec didn’t.If Casey proves he's better than Nemec, he should make the team ahead of Nemec. Nemec is great, but my point is that if he's recovering from injury and not 100%, he shouldn't make the team over someone who is playing better. We all love Casey, but selling Nemec short isn’t necessary to prop up Casey. We see the vision
He’s been very good, excited to see him make the team. You can never have too much mobility on the backend and his defending is pretty good.
Jack sees the vision
I don't know how Keefe talks like that if he's not intent on keeping him up.
