Where do you think he's going Moose or Dun this year.

They have to sign him to send him to the Moose. Look at his linemates tonight the put him with 2 big guys, Stenlund really played a tighter defensive game and Polei was there to make sure no one was going to get in an 18 year olds face. He didn't look out of place in that game which you might consider to be an "AHL" game. Clearly he has loads of talent.

Hard to say without being at practice every day and too see his habits but I probably like to see him in one more game now. Skating makes up for a lot of things in this league

Yeah but those guys coasting earned their spots at one point by busting their ass

At least Copacabana should have a good season on the moose

Yup. It's like people forget Dubois put up 60 points last year.

These vets have more then earned their spots over a large sample of meaningful games they aren't loosing them to a person having a hot week against AHL comp.

Montreal is going to suck. Without our AHLers taking penalties their was a point we might have really ran them out of their building there. St.Louis has a lot to do there

I know we shit on our 3 D that are vying for that last spot but I really enjoy how much all 3 are trying to push the play. I really want to see what they look like with a full NHL team that is actually going 100 percent

This didn't match my eye test so I went to check the stats. Per Natural Stat Trick, at 5v5 the Habs only managed a single shot attempt all game when PLD was on the ice. He finished the game with an xGF% over 98%.

By those same stats, Kyle Capobianco let all Jets in xGF% with 98.70%!

Yeah Montreal is bad and we shall soon see if St. Louis is in Iverson his head or not.

PLD pissed me off with how the off season went down . However I'm mature enough to hold back any on ice criticism until the real season starts.

Hypothetical question to anyone who criticizes vets in preseason. What would your rather have: A vet who busts his butt in the preseason and gets injured or a vet who goes through the motions to get back into the flow and then turns it into high gear for the regular season?

I wasn't to high on the Gagne signing, but he looks like that calming veteran influence that could benefit both vet and younger players and it looks like he can still play
Gagne was a pleasant surprise all over the ice. Agreed he looks to have that steady calming influence plus good mittens. Smitty was good too, and these two guys will be helpful in keeping the younger guys on track and still motivated
Holm will improve even further on the Moose.
Torgerson wasn’t too bad actually and has potential, although he didn’t really shine tonight. Our passing looked sloppy but that will improve as guys find their line mates..I thought that a lot of the new guys held onto the puck too long in the O but that will improve under new coaching I hope..

I went back and watched the Lambert goal and got to listen to the hilarious PBP on the NHL.com clip. They're gargling the balls of some kid on the Habs defense and then Lambert steals the puck 10 feet away from him and I don't even think he takes half a stride to get back and try to stop the shot. He just stands there and watches the puck sail into the Habs net. Beautiful.

Some thoughts … (go easy on me, I’m in pre-season form too)

- So, was that Montreal’s English broadcast team, or was that a national broadcast team? It was hilarious seeing them worked up over the Stanley/Dach skirmish and over Guhle’s stupid penalty

- Speaking of Guhle, I don’t know why those idiots kept gushing over him — I see a defenceman with a concerning lack of IQ — trying to get by on natural skill which won’t work as well against full time NHLers.

- Get Cappucinobianco off the team. He stinks.

- Lambert just oozes potential. I think I’d be most happy with him on the Moose this year. Let our coaches down there work with him. If we develop him well he’s gonna be real good, he has some great natural skill to build on.

- Holm surprisingly looked mostly decent given the onslaught he faced.

- Always fun beating the Habs, hoping for another rough year for them

I just wish there were more opportunity for them on the back end. Creating competition is nice, but you don't want them sitting on the vine too long. Sometimes you have to take a hit on the trade return to have a better future. Maybe somebody on another team will get injured and you can trade off a defenseman.

Yeah when St. Louis took over their offense woke up but their defensive play was and still is a train wreck.

They're going to be a much less talented 19-20 Jets without a Hellebuyck.

As a fan I agree with you. But if I was in Bones position I’d think there is barely enough depth here to get through a season. And players on ELCs who can play in the NHL are the best insurance you can have to plug holes when the inevitable injuries happen. If you move a vet defenceman and when the injuries come as they will we start getting pretty thin and next thing you know we are stuck with a waiver wire pickup we needed to plug a short term hole.

Agreed the commentating was over the top. Guess maybe I shouldn't be as hard on Sawyer, he's nowhere near the homers that those two where tonight.
Yeah, I will have to admit I was very disappointed with Poulin last night. Came across as aloof and started to sound like Beyak calling out the wrong player and stats. I guess Sawyer isn't as bad as we make him out to be...but he's still bad...:skeptic:

Mudryk and Poulin should go work for SN so they can dump on us more often.

TSN showing how they value their Jets contract. Can't even announce a new PxP guy. Give us the Mtl feed instead of sending the Jets broadcast crew. Don't broadcast the last 2 preseason games at all.

I expect them when they are doing a game for two markets to be 50/50, just because Bell is trying to save a nickel doesn't mean I have to listen to a slanted broadcast.

Yeah, actually that is exactly what it means. You don't like it? TSN doesn't care.

I wonder if there’s much chance of Lambert still going to the WHL. After a very good showing in Penticton he follows that up with a goal and an assist.
He would skate circles around a lot of those WHL players.

I think he is making a case for the AHL assignment. But he needs to sign a contract first.

Ottawa got our crew for their broadcast when they were here Tuesday.

You posted that we have only 15 D for Jets + Moose, but there are some AHL Dmen who are not in TC. We will probably have 7 Dmen with Jets + Heinola, Chisholm, Kovacevic, Gawanke, Lundmark, Capobianco and Sautner available for call up. Those last 2 or 3 might be a little weak for the NHL, but we have probably had worse on injury call up. Capo & Sautner have at least played a few NHL games and if we get that far down the list we are in real trouble anyway.

It doesn't matter at all if the Moose run short of Dmen. They will pick up some warm bodies.

If there is 1 thing Jets have it is depth Dmen.
