I’m 20 minutes from the EC and the app is puck blocking me.

Also, does the Utah logo look like it’s peeled off of some west coast b******t micro brew bottle?
I wouldn't be shocked if we send down a bunch of guys tomorrow even. CHL has already started, so guys like Mrsic and Pekarcik and McIsaac (who clearly aren't gonna make the club) got a game and will likely be going down soon.

Totally understand that.

At the same time is it putting Dvorsky in a position to succeed stapling a career ahler to his wing? Every preseason game is a showcase for these guys and means everything to them.

Is it fair to only put Dvorsky in a position to succeed and not any of the others? If he is going to be an NHL player, he needs to be able to elevate or play with lesser linemates. If he needs to top 6 NHLers on his wing to beat a team of Pre-season scrubs, than he does not deserve to be in the NHL anyway.

Thats not what I'm saying at all. In fact I mentioned Jecho, Robertsson and Pekarcik...none of which are close to top 6 players at this point.

Laferierre has already shown his upside is that of a bottom 6 ahler. In no scenario will he ever be on a line like that, whereas the others listed at least have that potential in the future. No offense to Mathias but he should be on the 4th line even in this preseason game.

Those are all kids. Laferierre has more professional points than those 3 combined by alot. He may not have upside, but he has experience. He is a middle 6 AHLer right now. Aside from Robertsson, the others definitely are not at 18 yo. Mathias is a better option than they are right now.

With the caveats that my feed sucked and it's a preseason game:
  • I thought Dvo made some nice little plays, but I didn't see anything that made me think he should be in NHL to start season. Some time in A should do him good.
  • I'd like to see Holloway with more talented linemates. With his size and speed and skill, seems like he could be 20+ goal guy if he plays with guys who have some skill.
  • It was nice to see Dickinson out there moving freely. Not optimistic that he has NHL future, but it's been long road for him and he looked like he belonged (with the other AHLers).
  • Robtersson looked much better than Kaskimaki. I've been higher on the latter, and will be interesting to see how they do in Springfield.
  • I liked Broberg's feistiness, size, skating. Seemed to fight puck a bit at times, but once he settles down..
  • Buchinger had rough night, which happens with young D. Mahlstrom looks like he should be in ECHL.
  • I echo what others said about Fisher. He could be real interesting in 3 years.
  • Zherenko on the PS looked like he wasn't used to facing guys with Cooley's skill level.
  • and I should add that I'm still on team Pekarcik,

Time to crown the next European scoring king. Said it from day 1.
Yeah we knew he was never going to be a defensive stalwart but man its barely AHL level.

Did you see his pathetic effort late in the game on the PP where he showed no battle? Let the Utah player push the puck down into the corner and didn't bother to retrieve at all which took another 15 seconds off the pp.

I already prefer Buchinger.

When you are a specialist on a college team then you probably aren’t going to be more than that as a pro.

Yep, I was hoping it was more of so many injuries over the course of 2-3 years where its like maybe he can just get to a passable level. POJ clearly ahead of him and ill even take the 39yr old Suter as well. Hell give me Tucker too as the #8.

Calder Cup here we come.

Not sure if you're joking or not; but it's actually a legit possibility.
Springfield is going to be STACKED. Only real question for them is whether Zherenko/Ellis can hold down the net. Zherenko just hasn't looked right since the injury.

Dvo-Schenn were good, as preseason progresses and the cut down the roster we'll get better looks with more rounded lineups with more NHL players.

Holloway looked great.

I liked what I saw from the bottom 6. Peterson also looked serviceable.

Broberg-Colt looked good, Broberg looked timid, but he is playing on a new team, gonna need a little time too adjust.

Perunovich's last chance is quickly getting away from him. He still looks like a player who's only Defensive play is to chase things around and is positioning sometimes leaves me confused.

Buchinger was fine for a 20 year old, but he needs to make better decisions on when to and when not to pinch, especially when he is by himself and in the Neutral Zone. Tho outside that one play he looked fine under pressure. Defensively he looked fine. Nothing spectacular

Fischer looks good. If he can put it all together we might have something there.

Malmstrom seems like a player who would stress me out.

I'm a huge Zherenko fan and I would agree with you since the injury. He was flat out dominant last year pre-injury, at one point sporting a .937sv%. He looks slow and unsure of himself in net right now which is wild because he's an athletic freak. Something isn't right.

On the flipside Ellis looked great.
