I'm really liking what I see from Hughes out there. No frills, no "pizzaz", but he's very sound fundamentally and steady in net.

Him and Dobes should be a good AHL duo for us.

Also, I've really liked Beck's and Xhekaj's play this game.

Overall, our veterans were clearly "off" and not playing with much urgency, and the Devils played with a lot of energy despite not really having a ton of talent aside from Nemec and Casey making it a closer game on-ice than it should have been on paper, but I still enjoyed watching this game.

The future is very bright for our team and with more time and proper development we could have something there.
