Anyone knows what the Minny lineup looks like? Do they plan on icing a competitive lineup?

Arniel said previously none of the top players were playing this weekend. This is mostly to give the kids a look with the bare minimum of vets you have to dress. I’m guessing the same with Minny so early in camp.

Yup. Looking forward to watching what the kids do. Won't get to watch the replay until later this evening as I'll be out.

Looks like a real skeleton crew. If we expect Lambert to be an option in the top 6 this year he should show well against these guys with his linemates
It sounds like Arniel wants to use his vets later in preseason, he was talking about guys who want to play the last 3 of 4. 7 games and cuts will start already next week, as some players get sent back to their Junior camps. By the final preseason game in Edmonton should start to see what the team looks like. Right now it's a chance for some prospects to get a look against better calibre players. Chance for some new players to make a first impression.

Wild Projected Lines

Devin Shore - Travis Boyd - Graeme Clarke

Jakub Lauko - Brendan Gaunce - Freddy Gaudreau

Ryder Ritchie - Ben Jones - Luke Toporowski

Adam Raska - Caedan Bankier - Pavel Novak

Defense:

Jon Merrill - Cameron Crotty

Carson Lambos - Declan Chisholm

Daemon Hunt - Kalem Parker

Starting Goaltender: Jesper Wallstedt

Looks like a mostly AHL squad. Wallstedt is probably the player to watch for the Wild.

Not sure what the number of vets(or with NHL experience) need to be dressed but the Wild are stretching it here by the looks of things.

There's a 2nd pairing guy there that seems like he's pretty good. Wonder where the Wild got him from.

I read a surgical infection from his injured ankle.

How does this happen on the day the first preseason game and not during the offseason?
In order to start training camp, you have to pass a medical. Part of the medical involved blood tests which revealed the presence of infection. Nothing to do with offseason or ramping up or anything other than a blood test.

Carson Lambos, Winnipeg Ice. 26th overall 2021 draft. Might turn out to be a better pick than Lucius at #18. Chisholm should have something to prove too.

So he's got a pin in his surgically repaired ankle , correct? Foreign bodies are often "rejected" by the body or in the case of pins, etc, lead to infection. I'm not a Dr. but I play one on the radio. Is this not something that the Jets and Heinola would have been keeping a close eye on in the offseason? Or does the NHLPA have rules in place regarding contact with players during the offseason? Whether Heinola voiced concerns about pain or swelling or what have you, as he may have been unaware an infection was brewing. Heinola just seems completely snake bit and hopefully this does not lead another virtually lost year as that might just spell the end of him as a Jet.

Gives Fleury a chance to show the coaching staff something and I'm thinking this might turn out to be a shrewd under the radar Chevy depth pickup.

Sucks for Heinola but it gives others a chance to show how good they might be also gives them a chance to show how bad they can be.

Hopefully the infection isn't related to his ankle at all, and just a predictable byproduct of killing some time at the Spike after getting into town early
