The Flames have had Basha out on their #1 PP both shifts. He just had a great chance 5v5 too.

A poster on CP mentioned at the draft that one of the jerseys with name bars that they brought on day 1 was Basha. Clearly he was one of the guys on their radar at 28. He also was the only 2024 day two pick not in the first round of cuts. I think they think pretty highly of him, easy to see why, he looks great for his age and draft position.

very possible, he may have been the guy they expected, but didn't think Gridin would be there. Regardless I'm quite happy with our draft

Certain parts of Basha's offensive game certainly reminds me of someone who played for the Flames recently but I can't quite put my finger on who.

I almost want to say some of his highlights reminds me of Kylington or an offensive dman, but I dunno why. Maybe Mangiapane or Coleman? I'm not sure.

Edit: a comparable that popped up was Toffoli. I'll have to watch more to see if the comparison makes sense.

Coronato should absolutely have a spot.

Pelletier hasn’t come close to nailing down a spot. Rooney/Hunt/Duehr all have more established NHL track record and will more easily slide into a 4th line role

They can definitely fit all of Pelletier/Coronato/Solovyov into the lineup. The only question is will they? Like, if they sign Barrie, there isn't really room for both Solovyov & Pachal assuming Bahl is healthy. One of them would have to be waived on top of Hanley & Tinordi.

And up front, everyone knows Huska really likes both Rooney and Hunt and wants them in the lineup; so it wouldn't be all that surprising if they waive Pelletier and hope he sneaks through so he can get regular playing time.
