Weird thing is they could have won either of those other 2 games, so if they do win tonight, it isn't automatically down to the lineup changes, it might just be finally getting the bounces our way instead. Except it will perpetuate keeping the weird blender lines despite that it was more likely just "better luck".

Smith has decent speed and can win puck battles then make a pass. His job is simple ... go hard into the zone, get the puck, pass it to his line mates, then go towards net for rebounds. It's not like him being there for a few shifts to start the game can do much to lessen the Preds' offense ... and its not like Bruno isn't going to change lines during the game so that trio for all three periods is unlikely.

With the 3rd line ... does Novak stay at center all night or does Jankowski take over in that spot with Novak moving back to wing?

Will be interesting to see if the lines end the same way they begin.

I think smith could work on that 2nd line but i just prefer stamkos to be at wing.

I also havent really seen anything out of Jankowski this preseason/season so far so i dont completely get putting him on the 3rd line but i guess we are leaning on the familiarity of the Jankowski/Novak/Evangelista line.
