Well in the hypothetical situation where roster changes are allowed I would also think Sweden would like a do-over on not bringing Wallinder.

As we've seen with Laf, not all guys adjust to the league right away.

But then again, teams nearly always put their shiny new toy in the lineup on Day 1.

That's true but as we've seen from some recent first overalls it can be a mistake. Playing in the NHL in your D+! really should be reserved for the truly special talents like McDavid/Eichel/Matthews even though admittedly I'm a little shocked that Laf wasn't a good NHLer right out of the box.

its confirmed it will be played in aug. roster changes is allowed. and the games that was played will not count.

If let's say Wright hasn't signed his ELC he can wait till after the tournament?

slovakia dominated sweden in the december game and won over us in hlinka cup. we are not better than slovakia. you are being too humble. dont forget that swedish coach is a total clown.

with slovakia having a legit chance on gold i think slafkovsky and nemec will be hungry to play.

If he didn’t sign his ELC it would be his choice yes, but no player is going to hold off on signing an ELC just to play in this tournament. Wright will probably sign his within a week after the draft

What gives me a good giggle?

All the Slovak posters are really humble. Don't say anything like 'we're winning this'. More like 'let's wait and see how we do, going to be tough'.

Then Slovakia loses and all the posters start trashing the Slovaks saying 'see, told you guy you weren't the best' as if you guys have been bragging for months about how great you are.lol

We're definitely feeling more confident than in the past about our potential upside.
 
It is almost impossible to make any kind of prediction until we know what players are going to show up. It has potential to be one of the best tournaments ever talent wise...and also could be one of the worst. Hopefully everyone shows up! I would assume right off the bat that anyone that is already a full time NHLer is just not coming.
